should be an interesting weekend.  Friday night coaching at Kingston vs. Kennedy.  Should be big becuase Jefferson beat #7 Xavier this last week.  Then the Kohawks play Augustana at 7 PM.  Should be another big night game.  First time these guys have played under the lights since they were in high school.  Rumor also has it that the Augustana QB is 5' 5" tall and he returns punts for them.  Can't wait for this weekend to start watchin D3 football again.

I don't think he is 5'5" tall but he is very short.  They did not have a roster for the Auggie players but if he is over 5'10' and I doubt it I would be surprised.

That quite possibly is the greatest thing I've ever heard.  Little people unite, I myself not being the tallest am glad to hear that this kids size does not play into the position he plays.  I also like the fact that he returns punts, shows that he is a multi-talented athlete, just hope this also means he is tough and can take a hit and keep on going.

Loras had a guy circa 1999 that if he was 5'5, it was barely. I think he, too, returned punts. Don't remember the name though.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Another weekend (extended thanks to Labor Day) away from the computer and it takes almost an hour to catch up.  Too bad I didn't get a speed reading course (or go to Cornell), maybe I could have gotten through it quicker.

As for my Labor Day weekend.  Mentioned the Friday Night High School Football game we covered between St. Charles and Caledonia (MN).  Saturday I made may way to Heaven (no, it's Iowa) all the way down to Benton county to the town of Van Horne.  Surprise birthday party (BBQ and drinking) for fellow teammate and roommate, the Hurricane.  Even got to hear SK on the radio as I cruised past Waterloo, IA.  Sunday I headed back North to the land of lakes for a trip to Canterbury Park for some Horse Racing.  Ended up bringing home an extra $40 or so (not bad for a first timer).  Monday was travel back home day and another BBQ just for the hell of it.

Doesn't sound quite as much fun as the NE Iowa Wedding that Klopenhiemer (I assume it was in NE IA because that sounds like something straight out of Decorah/Calmar).  Not quite as much FB as I wanted, but this is the week that starts it all.  I also learned I might get a quick peak at the Knights when the play at Augsburg if I can fit it into my schedule that day.

Good Luck to all teams this Saturday.  It would be nice to see an IIAC sweep.

Horse racing is my second favorite sport and I rarely do as well as you did.

And, I think jockeys are some of the best athletes in the world.  If one of those guys ever gets to 5'5" all of the other riders call him, "Stretch."

My labor day weekend saw me traveling back to watch my youngest brother play high school football.  It was good to see a victory and see him play well, he ran for two touchdowns and threw another.  He will be a good QB and some IIAC teams should definately recruit his area a little harder as their are lots of talented DIII athletes with not a lot of DIII schools in the area.  Then the depressing stuff, Michigan showing their youth and why it could and will be a long season failed to move the ball and still only lost by 2 points.  No moral victories though, gotta win and that's it.  Then watched Missouri v Illinois and what a game that was.  Almost a 100 points combined and a ton of yards by both teams.  Iowa fans watch out, Illinois is for real and it would not surprise me to see Missouri play for the National Championship, baring they make it out unscathed against the Big 12.  I think the only team that could stop them would be Texas and/or Oklahoma if and when they face in the Big 12 Championship game.

I see that WC now has their roster posted on their web site

13 guys NOT from Iowa, everyone else is in state?  No Florida guys.  Wartburg used to have a solid one or two from there each year.  Six IL, Five MN, Two MO.

I agree that Mizzou will make it to the big 12 title game but they will get beat by OU. If teams find a way to keep Maclin(sorry if i misspelled it) from getting out of the blocks and getting something going Mizzou is in big trouble.

Definitely Jeremy Maclin is a big part of the success of Missouri, but they showed that there are other weapons on that offense besides him.  The TE Coffman and the RB Derrick Washington both had big games not to mention they still have a Heisman runner-up playing QB in Chase Daniel.  They just need their defense to play to its potential and then I don't think there is a team better than them in the country.  But that defense did just give up 42 points, so who knows, just like everything in the IIAC this season, lots of questions and luckily we should get some answers this Saturday.

My Friends,

Based on my experience, some of the bloggers need an attitude adjustment.

Maybe the Knights found enough quality players without having to go out of state. Central's roster appears to be about 90% Iowa players.

I don't think we have you down yet.  Have you been to the pickem board to do the tie breaking questions yet?  There are some things to pick in the preseason.  Only have today, Thursday, and Friday to do it.

My Friends,

What bloggers? This is a message board.

Blogger is the noun version of Blogging all derived from Blog.

A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual [1], with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting), which are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, one which consists of blogs with very short posts. As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs.[2] With the advent of video blogging, the word blog has taken on an even looser meaning — that of any bit of media wherein the subject expresses his opinion or simply talks about something.
