I have audio/video evidence that Loras got the snap off in time.

Excellent, I look forward to putting all the questions to rest.

When will you be posting your audio/video evidence of Loras getting the ball snapped in time, while everyone was set?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Attendance so far.  And while I know that no school actually counts the attendance, it's interesting to note the schools that pretend to have a real count, and the schools that just throw out an even stevens number each week.

BV
2,500 UW-Platteville
3,500 Simpson

Central
1,500 Lakeland
3,000 Wartburg (HC)

Coe
1,800 Gustavus Adolphus
5,535 Loras (HC)

Cornell
775 Grinnell
750 Carleton
1,200 Coe

Dubuque
4,178 Rockford
1,747 BV

Loras
1,940 I Forget College of Illinois

Luther
2,557 St. Olaf
2,966 Dubuque

Simpson
2,000 Grandview
2,000 Luther

Wartburg
3,200 St. Norbert
4,200 Cornell

Even if Cornell got a significant number of Mt. Vernonites not affiliated with the school in some way, it's such a small town area.  Cornell has a Purple Pass that is free to all MV (and Lisbon too I think) residents.  I would say they are reaching out to the community.

A winning team puts butts in the seats, that's a fact.  But it is not like the Rams aren't trying.

Dubuque (DBQ) has a population base of 57,000 and Cedar Rapids (Coe) has a base of 125,000+

With those kind of numbers the question should be why don't those teams do more?

The real answer is...it's D3.  If you can get the students out, you're winning the battle...girlfriends and family members you can count on.

there was no chance that ball got snapped in time... EVEN IF IT DID, the Loras linemen were standing straight up with less then a second left, got down in their 3 point stance, and then "snapped" the ball.  there is no way they were set if they were standing around with less then a second left.  if in anything, besides being called off because if they didnt get it off in time, it should have been a 5 yard penalty.  i have never scene refs impact the outcome of a game so much.
loras got at least 60 yards on penalties alone on their last drive, the "late hit" penalties were a bit suspect.. there was one that might have been legit.
that was some pretty bad officiating.

OK, enough about the officiating giving Coe the loss.  There were plenty of calls against Loras.  i.e. Coe was given an interception on a pass that clearly hit the ground.  Loras got a 15 yard late hit penalty by holding a guy up going out of bounds.  Before the last snap, Coe defenders laid on McGrew for a good five seconds.  If there should've been a penalty, it would be a delay of game on Coe for that.   Basically, it looks like Coe's players have have taken on the discipline from their coach, who got a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty earlier in the game.

Question for you Central people...Who is getting most of the reps at the receiver position lately? What is the depth like at that position for the dutch? Just curious...thanks!

On a brighter note, Coe alum Fred Jackson scored his first NFL regular season touchdown today on a 22-yard run.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

I'll have a link tomorrow. I went over it quite a few times, not just throwing that out there just to be a homer. I really didn't think Loras got it off in time when I was there, but it sure appears so in this. Everyone in the picture is set and the buzzer clearly sounds after the snap.

It is the same as last year.  They have different players for different packages.  I think they have 6-8 guys catching the ball.

Attended the BV-DBQ game this weekend.  I'm becoming more and more impressed by the Beavers.  The D looked solid the entire game except for a series where it looked like the heat may have been getting to them.  The o-line continues to improve.  Cory Donscheski ran as well as I've seen any BV back run since I became familiar with the program.  Matt Pearey still has not thrown an interception this year, and he makes good decisions quickly, a trait BV has lacked in its quarterbacks for at least 4 years.

The best thing I saw Saturday was the performance of the young guys on defense.  Many sophomores and freshmen saw significant playing time, and they held their own very well.  This year's freshman class is the most talented in a long time for BV.  From what I've heard, the majority of them like BV and intend to stick around (crossing fingers).  This coming Saturday will be an excellent test to determine not only the true strength of this year's squad, but also of the direction of the program in the next few years.  I think Saturday's game will be very competitive, and I think BV has a real shot at taking down the de facto rulers of the IIAC.

Did any Central faithful make it to the game in MI yesterday? Thoughts on why it was closer than projected?

Well I think that Staker is at 500.  So I will go with Staker.

Ok doolittledog,

Your thoughts about UD so far?  Would you say they have taken a step back.

Crap, I worded that wrong. Meant to ask who has more career IIAC wins.
The follow up question to that is who will have more career IIAC wins at the end of the season.
Staker, J. Matt, or Durnin?
