Since its too far to make an IIAC game tomorrow ... I may drive down to Holland, Michigan for the Trine (formerly TriState University of Angola, Indiana) at 3-0 (did you read their story on d3football this week?) against Hope College, 0-4 (Homecoming this weekend).  All four of Hope's losses came against ranked teams with a combined record of 11-1.

This may be a good time for my 7-year old grandson's first college football game, since it is supposed to be sunny with a high of 61 tomorrow.  He's in a wheelchair, so all the Homecoming hoopla, a college band at halftime, and a hot dog may be enough to keep him happy.

May all the IIAC teams come out of tomorrow's games with no injuries ... thanks for UD's breather ... and

GO SPARTANS!

You should take him.  He will love it.  Hope has a great venue that they play in.  Great seating as well.  It was a great place to go watch a game.

A slight quibble (in case Pat views this - he has a pet peeve about referring to Others Receiving Votes as 'ranked' ;)): while all four Hope opponents have received votes this year, only Wheaton and Eau Claire are ranked.  Carthage has received votes (though no longer, despite laying 70 on Hope a couple weeks ago); IWU has risen from 0 to 1 to 2 to 5 points (I figure if that progression is exponential, they oughta be unanimously #1 by the playoffs ;D).

[Pat is not a fanatic about this peeve - a phrasing like "IWU, with 5 points, is the equivalent of #38 this week" is acceptable.  Thus, Hope is facing their FIFTH consecutive opponent with 'points' - Trine is equivalent to 35th. :D]

Go enjoy the game WITH your grandson - despite the disparity in records, I have Hope in the pickems!  (And Hope's stadium IS wheelchair accessible, with many good places to view the game together.)

Go Kohawks!

Lets play a solid 60 minutes, and not one second more.

Go Kohawks!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

HEADLINES FROM iNDIANOLA

Saturday's game with Coe is a record breaker.  The Kohawks have gotten used to playing extra minutes and set an NCAA record game with 15 overtimes.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

WEEK #4 AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY
Coe @ Simpson:  Here are the two biggest questions about this game in my mind:
1.  Can Coe shake off a disappointing (to say the least) loss against Loras last week in time to go on the road to face a good Simpson team?
2.  Is Coe's run defense up to the task of stopping Reutzel after letting McGrew run all over them to the tune of 137 yards and 3 TDs last week?
Coe also seems to still be trying to find their identity on offense.  Through Coe's first three games, QB CJ Feller averaged 38+ pass attempts per game.  Last week they only put the ball in the air 18 times while Loras out-possessed them by more than 12 minutes and ran 25 more plays.  If the Kohawk defense can't get off the field and their offensive mates don't give them more of a rest, I think it'll be a long day for them in Indianola.  Simpson wins this one by 7-10 points.

Is it me or does the Loras video feed improve to not be so jumpy?

Wartburg's videocast was very smooth last week.

I can't help with the Loras feed but does anyone know what I have to do to get more than a blank screen when I try to look at the Luther feed?

A possible new world order in the IIAC?  Looks like BV and Loras will be tied at the top of the league with 3-0 records after today.
