Interesting year in store!  After hearing those at last week's W'burg - Cornell game saying how the final score didn't match how close the game was, I'm surprised how easy Loras had it today.  I think the frosh QB finally came into his own during the 2nd half.  Can't wait for the game of the week next Saturday, BV at Loras!

4 Cornell turnovers - 4 Loras TD's.  3 of those TO's inside the Cornell 25.

When your opponent is so acommodating it's hard not to look good.

Loras played flawless it would otherwise appear.  McGrew's performance was not a surprise...in fact he may have played better against us last year.  Good thing he's a senior.

In direct comparison, Loras DID play better against us than Wartburg did.

On the flip side, we played a lot worse.   Loras had the good fortune that Jr. went down early in the game as he was a big contributor to the success of last week.  Our QB did not enjoy the same running success as last week.  Was that due to Loras' effort?  You have to hand it to them IMHO.

The game announcers for Cornell online commented that several balls were nearly intercepted in the first half by the Rams, but it was hard to tell watching online.  If so, it would be nice to cash in these opportunities.  Had these pllays resulted in interceptions, I think the Frosh QB might not have had the same confidence boost to come out firing in the 2nd half, but that's just my opinion.

Loras played well, and breaks seem to be going their way...BV will be a test.

You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

A great day to be a Duhawk!  Cornell played well in the first half, but Loras smoked the Rams in the second.  Having Ben McMahon for the second frame really helped. He only played about a quarter and a half (at most) and caught for over 100 yards and 2 TDs.  Gesing really loved finding him after struggling to find targets in the first.

McGrew did great again, but the story was probably the defense.  Three sacks, nine tackles for a loss, two INTs, and only allowing 167 yards is a pretty good day at the office.  Bush never got comfortable in the backfield.  He only had 1 or 2 good runs and his only successful passing play was the quick slant/in.  Macey going down early probably didn't help in that dept.

Sure, Cornell gave Loras some help to the win, but the way they took advantage of those misques was great to see.  I'm pretty excited for next week's matchup in the Rock Bowl.
Not going to lie...Dewey is a pretty good looking bird/furry beaked body builder.

Just got back from the North country.  What a glorious day at Carlson Stadium!!  I am so impressed with our defense.  We did have a few near misses but in general when we had to have a stop we got it.  I just about came out of my shoes on that interception for a TD.  I think I scared a few of the 'older' alums up on the observation deck.   Most of them were talking about fund raising away.....geeeeeez.  When I got to the field I shook Reynolds hand and gave him a hit on the pads.  This kid just keeps getting better and better each  week.  If only my Cyclones could have held on....but they do seem like they are improving.

Only one thing left........GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!

My poor Dutch.  You needn't look much farther that the IIAC stats.  The Dutch are last in defense and rushing.  That does not spell success.  With only two games there is time to change.  Time to get down to work and improve each game.

Way to go Kohawks! Way to respond with your backs against the wall.

Congrats to the Kohawks!  What a great win!  All I can say is "WHO IS CALLING THE OFFENSE?"    Sputtering, sputtering and boring. What's up with the call just before halftime?   INT for a TD????   BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD decision not punting it away on 4th down with a 14 point lead.   This game should not have been close from what the announcers were saying.

What an uncharacteristic performance by the Coe defense giving up all of these yards rushing the past two weeks.   What is wrong with Breitbach?  Hurt?

Bring on the Knights!  The IIAC is upside down!  Ya Hoo!   There's life in Kohawk land ;)  At lease we're in the hunt!

Way to go Beavers!

Worst performance by the Knights in years!  Sad night in Waverly tonight, drinking the pain away,  but from what I hear some of them need to stay out of the bars and get their minds focused on football.   Not all of us alums are Willis fans.  Guess Koehler new the shelf was empty.   Don't worry too long though, I saw the Coe vs Cornell game,  the Knights should get back on track next week vs the lady Kohawks even if they stay out late next Friday night.   BTW is Yordi our sole rushing attack?

And Central will they ever recover from the Wartburg loss?   I guess not.   Heard they had a lot of injury.   Throwing 56 times, I can't believe it.   Congrats to the Beavers and the Norse.  Great wins!   Loras still has something to prove, beating Cornell and Coe is nothing to brag about.  They lost to Monmouth and have already had the bye.

Sorry Central fans if the video streaming didn't work as well as had ben expected.  Hope you saw part of the game at least.....it was a great game from the Norse point of view.

IMHO the turning point was the blocked field goal and then a bit later the INT for a 99 yd TD.  Luther's D line played well as expected but the real focus was the O-line taking the right steps.  Must have worked on steps all week because steps were the problem against Simpson. QB looked good because of the O-line.

I had picked Central but happy to have lost the picks but win the game.

Dutch are going to be fearsome next year but it injects some energy into the conference schools to have it topsy-turvy this year.

Congrats to BV, sounds like you took it to the Knights.  I wouldn't start thowing dirt on the Knights just yet. We've lost two games to teams with a combined record of 8-1. But if we don't start playing to our potential immeiately, we will be a write-off by season's end.
