Man, reading the Coe strings, now that their season is in the tank, sure is kinda interesting.

Welcome to my world.   8)

Need some Halloween costume help.
We are taking our 2 month old to a halloween party and are trying to think of a celeb couple with a baby (or any other ideas). ANyone got anything good running through their mind.
Our little girl already has a calf costume so we thought of looking for a bull and cow costume. Anyone know where we could find those?

You could go as Jamie Lynn Spears and her baby daddy.  Pretty much your typical "white trash" costume, except maybe include some LSU clothes to narrow down the location.

How about Sara Palin and her Hubby?  They have a small baby.
We actually talked about being Bristol and her boyfriend. I would dress up in either hockey gear or hunting close and my wife would dress more like Sarah Palin.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I am trying to figure out how Iowa City or the City of Cedar Rapids is a recruiting advantage for Coe and not Cornell.

Cedar Rapids is a short enough ride from MV...and the distance to IC is relatively the same.

I would even comment that Cornell offers the best of both.  A small town with the proximity to the amenities of larger cities.

My condolences go out to Central volleyball player Haley Brillhart who's father passed away from Cancer.  Thanks Cornell for moving the date of the volleyball match.

Wow, that sounds like a rather extraordinary accommodation.  Very classy on Cornell's AD's part.

Our prayers go out to the Brillhart family.

How about the Simpsons?  I don't know where Mrs. Hoover gets a big head of blue hair but all you need is a bald head, big gut, white shirt, and a pair of blue pants.  Every time I pass a mirror I wonder who let Homer in.  All the baby needs is a pacifier and a ribbon on top of her head.

Warthog:  Will you be tailgating before the game on Saturday.  Looking at making the trip over to Indianola.
Anyone:  Where is the best place to grab something to eat/drink after the game?

Yes, it was.  They were supposed to play tonight and the funeral is this afternoon.  It has been a long haul for the family with his health and it can't be easy with one daughter just starting at Central just after the other one finished.

It may, but Cornell being so "studious" i doubt would draw interest much from recruits.  Wartburg has the same pitch as cornell - small town, close to a college town (Cedar Falls - UNI), but Wartburg also has winning as a pitch - something Cornell lacks.  If you are going to spend time driving into CR, why not go to Coe instead, and not have to drive there.  If you like the small town feel, really you could just stay on campus, and get the small town feel.

Upper Iowa not quite getting the D2 success they were hoping for.

WHAT A MESS .
"Fans have been disgruntled with the program recently. During last Saturday's 40-7 loss to Augustana, instead of standing on the home sideline at Eischeid Stadium, Upper Iowa's staff decided to have the football team occupy the visiting sideline — opposite from the Peacock fans.....In terms of finding a permanent replacement for Knoll, it won't come soon. Walker said today the search for an athletic director — which the school hasn't had since Gil Cloud resigned in late July — is still ongoing. The school interviewed four individuals last summer, but the search committee wanted to look at additional prospects," - WCF Courier

How does a team in Iowa get a name like the Peacocks?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose...  ;)

I drove around the Coe campus...the only "feel" I noted was industrial waste.   ;D

Are you kidding me?  I cannot claim to have seen every IIAC campus (no BV, Simpson, or Luther), but from the one's I have seen and including the SCIAC schools I have seen (all of them, including wannabe Chapman), Coe has got the least amount of ambiance or small town "feel" in my opinion.

I expected UD, for example, to not have that kind of thing working for it, but the school looks to be in a decent little neighborhood.
