Speaking of Central football.  I wonder what the winning percentage for Central is when DF2K4 is in attendance.  I know he was at the Loras game and missed the Luther game this year.  I don't know about the Wartburg game.

That is probably a pretty high winning percentage over the last 5 seasons!!!

Wow so many things pop into my mind after reading this post, but I will refrain since this a family board.

I'm more interested in what Central has to do to beat Buena Vista than how they would do in some mythical match up.  I checked out the Beaver's stats page.  Nothing really jumps out at me except that they have beaten good teams and they seem to have a pretty solid defense.  In fact what I really worry about is that Central could fail to score against the Beavers and suffer their first shut out since 2002.  I have never been to a football game in Storm Lake, but from what I have read on here, I predict that somehow, the wind will have something to do with the outcome.

The Beaver rushing attack is not half bad this season either!

How does my attendance to games have anything to do with not being a family board? Doolittle I am with you this is way over my head.

I was at both of the Wartburg games and Loras games.  I missed the Luther game and the Michigan game.  So for the last five years I have seen 41 Dutch wins and 10 Dutch losses.  That is about .0839 winning percentage.  Not to shaby.  Been much happier than sad.

Playing BV in Storm Lake won't help. Our defense will definitely need to step up and take control. It would be nice if the D were a scoring defense this game. I think that Central is going to have to grind out a ground game, as I don't think an air attack with work with BV's defense.

Are they predicting snow this weekend? Man, it's cold the way it is up there off the lake....no snow required!!

Storm Lake Weather for Saturday

High of 36 degrees, with NW winds gusting to 30 mph.

This should make things even more interesting on Saturday!

It's not really a BV game if there isn't rain/sleet coming down. When we played there, the ball was always in serious danger of freezing to the turf...

Don't worry about getting there early to get a good seat on the fifty yard line. Go late and snuggle in on the leeward side of the biggest person you can find. As oldNorse says, "The wind always plays in Storm Lake." The kicking game is amplified out there. Advantage Dutch. BV is just solid in all facets of the game. If the Dutch can find a way to pick up first downs and burn some clock going into the wind and limit the time BV has with the wind, they will have a shot.

we played one game there on the last weekend of the year (aformentioned BV almost* winning the championship game) and it was 60's and sunny... great weather

Wartburg Fan

I believe that BV will win over Central at BV. They always play good at home and they have a good team this year. Now if its was at Central this game would be a toss up. I hope I'm wrong but thats being selfish, as I want Wartburg to win the conference.

Storm Chaser

BV  vs Central -  honestly that forecast would seem to favor Central  If you look at BV rushing this year with the exception of Waldorf (can't really count that) and Dubuque, BV's rushing attack has been pretty anemic.

I believe that this game will come down to defense and the ability to win the close games. BV has shown this throughout the season by picking up big wins against Wartburg and Loras when they needed to. With the exception of the Luther game, BV has proved that they can win the close games. Defensively the edge will go to the Beavers as they lead the league in points allowed at just 13.6 points per game. The biggest factor in the game (as you alluded to earlier) will be the weather but the Beaver ground attack has both of its backs in the top 10 individual rushers in the conference ( #3 - 719 yards and #6 - 434 yards respectively) where as the Dutch's leading rushing comes in at 9th with 379 yards in 8 games. I honestly believe that the weather and the rushing advantage go to the Beavers. Beavers 35 - 7.

I agree, the Beavers have a huge advantage and are the better team this year.  If the Dutch start the game down 21-0, it will not be as close as last weeks game!  I'm hoping Central shows up for the beginning of the game.....
