BV  vs Central -  honestly that forecast would seem to favor Central  If you look at BV rushing this year with the exception of Waldorf (can't really count that) and Dubuque, BV's rushing attack has been pretty anemic.

I believe that this game will come down to defense and the ability to win the close games. BV has shown this throughout the season by picking up big wins against Wartburg and Loras when they needed to. With the exception of the Luther game, BV has proved that they can win the close games. Defensively the edge will go to the Beavers as they lead the league in points allowed at just 13.6 points per game. The biggest factor in the game (as you alluded to earlier) will be the weather but the Beaver ground attack has both of its backs in the top 10 individual rushers in the conference ( #3 - 719 yards and #6 - 434 yards respectively) where as the Dutch's leading rushing comes in at 9th with 379 yards in 8 games. I honestly believe that the weather and the rushing advantage go to the Beavers. Beavers 35 - 7.

BeaverFan - actually I missed one BV had a prety good day rushing against Coe, that said take Coe, Waldorf and Dubuque out and they've only average  86 yds/game in the other 5 games -  So if weather doesn't allow for airing it out and Central puts 8 or 9 in the box it could get tough.  I'm thinking a very low scoring game probably will hinge on turnovers. My brother is a BV alum so he'd be happy if they prevail.

I don't see anything on the BV web site about streaming video.  I thought BV was supposed to be high tech.

I went down to the family room closet and dug out my red Nebraska #57 jersey.  It doesn't look exactly like Central's, but it will do in a pinch.  I plan to wear it while I flip back and forth between the  Central/BV & Wartburg/Dubuque games.  I'm not taking the Spartans lightly.  I'll be wearing a Wartburg cap, drinking out of a Wartburg mug, walking around in orange Converse hightops, and munching black/orange Oreos.  Weather permitting I'll be flying my orange/black flag in front of the house, with an upside down Spartan pennant directly beneath it.

I know grandma Warthog is looking down and shaking her finger at me, but I can't help it.  I doubt if it has ever happened before that I have wanted Central to win and Dubuque to lose football games on the same day.

If all this fails, I have a purple jersey I can put in to service next weekend.  I hope the Knights and Dutch win this weekend, so whatever happens on the last weekend is purely academic.

Warthog, you are beginning to sound like me with all those superstitions.  I thought about mowing yesterday, since it looks like the weather won't permit mowing between now and saturday.  Then figured I would just let the Spartans do it on their own saturday.  No one in my family seems interested in braving the weather saturday so it looks like I will be watching from my computer.  Not a bad way to spend my saturday.  My wife bought buffalo wings and potato boats from the Schwans man yesterday and we are stocked up on beer.  I will definatly be warmer at home than in the stands at Walston Hoover.  Remember, 2 years ago there was snow on the field in Waverly when the Spartans won :o

Of course, after yesterday, maybe I should talk strictly about zone blocking schemes and blitz packages...less someone confuse me for leading an alternative lifestyle...not that there is anything wrong with that  ;D

I did not acuse you of living an alternative lifestyle.  If you want to live one go right ahead.  Do not let me stop you and I will not judge.  Regarding zone blocking (if you understand it), I am not the czar (look it up Coe fans) of this board and I did not tell you had to do any such thing.  You put DF2k4 up on this mountian as the most winning fan in the history of Dutch football.  I puked a little bit in the back of my mouth, thats all.

Klop, I think married life is mellowing you out.  Of all the words I could use to describe your demeanor when you were a bachelor, apologetic is not one of them.  I can almost picture the new, improved(?) Klop wearing a sweater vest while walking the family Labradoodle.

Well you got me all fired up now BOY.  I edited my post to be more Klop like.

Regarding the sweater vest and labradoodle...I got a great laugh out of that.  But you did fail to mention the cup of Starbucks latte in hand with the wall street journal tucked neatly under the other arm.

When things get to this point in my life, I just say, "Sorry dear, I don't know how I could have been so inconsiderate of your feelings." Even when I don't have a clue whats going on. Three or four days later, it's all better. Works everytime.

I know why everyone is so quiet. Most of you picked the Rams to beat the Norse on senior day in Decorah, before the season started. And now that the moment has arrived, you just feel sheepish.

NOnexistent. I think McMartin is a great coach, but wonder what he was thinking giving both his TB's a total of 6 carries in a game. There would be times that a Central RB would have 6 carries on the first drive.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I feel bad that here it is the 6th already and I just learned that November is Iowa Wine Industry Month.  I wish I had a bottle to uncork to celebrate when Central beats the Beavers.
