They are all better than the Big Red Dinosaur that Central used to have. How embarassing. (I have several pictures, none of which I will be sharing....)  ;)

Was this a scary dinosaur or a Barney type Dino???

And there has to be some type of joke out there about the Central cheerleaders turning the Little Dutch Boy into the Dutch Man ;D

I got a good laugh out of that.  As being the resident prickly on the board I can also take the throne of worst graps on the English language.  I will lavish in both!

Okay folks its getting to end of the season and we should be chattering our brains out.  I am not going to start talking playoffs yet, but the Beavers still have a lot of business to take care of.

Lets start with this...If the season ended today who are you pick for the following.

COY:  Anderson or Ostey.. i though Loras was going to be the cellar deweler this year
POY:  McGrew:  hes insane... but Loras is killing him - 40 carries a game???
Biggest surprise: Loras for above reason
Biggest disapointment:  Coe - 0fer at home??? never happens  Central - but many thought they were going to be rebuilding.
Biggest turning Point in the season for any team:  Central - winning at Coe.  Coe - playing poorly in their 1st 2 games of the year.  BV - beating Wartburg, and the rebound after the loss.  Loras - beating Central.  Cornell - losing to Grinnell.

Also vote for your favorite IIAC mascott:  have to go with Charlie.

This doesn't have any bearing on IIAC football ... but word came out today that because of a norovirus outbreak on the campus of Hope College ... all classes, activities and atheltic events have been cancelled until next Tuesday, November 11.

This was to be Parent's Weekend with a load of things happening on campus.  Bummer! :-[

I loved the change of the "Norse" to the "Rockets" myself.

The first time I saw Big Red the dinosaur was the first time I was back on campus since the 60's.  I thought it was a flashback hallucination.  I was so relieved when I realized that people around me couldn't figure out what it was either.  If Central was in its normal position of leading the conference, the lack of a mascot wouldn't bother me.  But as it is, when I see the Spartan and the Beaver, I get mascot envy.  I am not near Central College campus happenings but I saw a picture a couple of years ago of a thing that looked like it came off the Dutch Boy paint can label that was proposed as a mascot and met with little enthusiasm and never saw the sidelines, thank goodness.  I guess the question is, what should Central's mascot be?  Did the Lakeland Muskie make the trip to Pella?

Maybe Central can have a windmill as a mascot ;D ;D

Rex...here is the Hope College mascot......I'm not saying we should copy Hope, but just about anything is an improvement over a red dino!

I know this is post #500 and I can do better but..... a red dino is better than a dead rhino. ;D ;D ;D
