I just looked at Cornell's coaching staff and well over half of the coaches are in their first year with the team. Can't imagine they'd get rid of guys that have had only one year to prove themselves unless its Bentz they're canning, or the old guys.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Walston,

Haven't talked to #2 son yet about going up North.  I know he has been busy on this rotation.  I just got an email from my mother-in-law that said he just got home from delivering another baby.  Long day for hime today.  Left at 7 got home at 9:15.

Fumble for Freddie.
Which hospital?

Lucas County.  He is doing his family practice rotation now down in Chariton.

wow, these guys sure know how to win close games-

"UW-Stevens Point has won six games this season by three points or less, including four by a point."

nothing like having 6 wins for a total of 10 points.  Just think of all the would of, should of going on in the WIAC.

Now I just need the Knights & Aurora to win this week -
Ginn & Wheeler won on the road last year as a #8 seed, so it's been done.

Old Dutch

Wow, busy place today.  On Klp's questions:

COY - Anderson - improved record by 4 wins when no one thought it could be done.  #2 Osty.
POY - I'll throw WB a bone and say Yordi.  Without McGrew, Loras wouldn't have been a third place team.  WIthout Yordi, WB wouldn't have been champions.

Biggest surprise - good - BV
Biggest surprise - Bad - DBQ or Coe.  Central was surprisingly bad , but a year with youth = a year without depth = bad time for injuries
61 consecutive seasons without a losing season

Who do Central fans peg as best newcomer to the team?  Wong?  Doeden?  Wilken?  Furlong?

Which team is going to be hurt the most by graduation losses?

I got to go with Wong - big impact guy on the defensive side.  Since Doeden didn't really play much until late, I like the potential in him too.  As far as that goes I think they'll all be studs, given some time with Jake in the wt room.

Warts lose a lot on D, don't know about the O.  Loras looses Mr. Everything, but I think they had a young QB.  Simpson loses Reutzel, among others,  overall, I think there's lots of young talent this year.

I must say i concur with our mystery guest.

First off, our phantom poster isnt Sanches, nice try though.  Cornell is a lil smarter than that cmon now guys.  He doesn't play for the fball team either.  So there goes that theory about some disgruntled player.  Finally, what he does say is true.  I know who it is and thats about all there is to say about it.  He makes a lot of valid points and I don't see the future of this program headed anywhere near the direction it should be.  Coaches will be gone, players will be gone and its gonna be a long road ahead.  Why some have their panties up in a bunch over in CC33 sayin this is beyond me.  Until people start getting singled out, the season is over for the Rams and its time to move on.  You can all go do your CSI background checks on me now....have fun chasing invisible butterflies.
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

Is one of his valid points that it's an honorable thing to falsely implicate a player in this sort of garbage?  Boy, I sure hope these allegedly fired coaches have another means of paying mortgages and raising families.  Your concern for them is overwhelming.

Although it is pretty clear that with Cornell's upstanding fan base, you setting a stellar example, that it's just a short matter of time until they are on top of the IIAC.

Purple Heys

It has been a frustrating season to be a Ram fan.

Our mystery CCRAMS33 did send me a PM before he ejected, maintaining that he was not a player...but he wrote that he was concerned for that players that worked so hard.

So logging in with a handle that could implicate an innocent team member demonstrates the sincerety of that concern.

This team just went 0-10...losing at this order of magnitude is going to expose the raw disappointment and things get ugly like this.

Here in San Diego, SDSU is going through a similar situation...losing on historic terms.  Curiously, the article in the U-T sounds strangely similar to the purported break up of the Rams' staff.  http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/aztecs/20081117-9999-1s17azfoot.html

This is a fact of being in the profession of coaching.  If your program is not successful, it is only a matter of time before changes get made...either by you or for you or to you.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

I've been a bit behind, but here it goes...
1. Wartburg
2. Central
3. Simpson
4. Buena Vista
5. Coe
6. Dubuque
7. Loras
8. Luther
9. Cornell

So The Show, you pick Central to finish second and they finish fifth, then you have Coe finishing fifth and that is where they end up, tied for fifth and yet  Coe is a bigger bad suprise than Central.

Care to comment?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Can't claim to understand it because I've never been on a team with a losing season, let alone not win a single game. I can see how it would be frustrating to put the time in, and never, not once experience walking off the field with the W.
From an outsider's perspective, I thought maybe the talent was not there and they were doing a great job coaching and that's what was keeping them in games--early on,
but after watching their game against Wartburg and listening and watching bits and pieces of others, it looked like they had sufficient talent to win at least a couple games.
CCRams33's post would suggest he surely thinks so, having a couple coaches get the axe suggests someone higher up thinks so, and in seeing that they averaged just over 4 points per second half this year, its pretty clearly that the proper adjustments aren't being made. I'm just like everyone else, pretty easy for me to point out the problems, but I got no solutions other than speaking from a coach's perspective that I gotta believe There's some sort of plan and purpose for doing what is being done there.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

What is up with the CSI background check statement.  When someone comes onto the scene with a name like CCRAM33 wouldnt it make sense to check the Cornell website and see if there is a legitamate connection?

OZ is exactally right.  This is the type of crap that we have seen from Cornell fans, excluding Heys, for quite some time now.  Its either the hail marry the sky is falling, or praise the lord were winning the conference.
