Good luck Wartburg ... Can't bring myself to say that
Break a leg Knights, several if it helps ... too many words
If it helps, break several Knight legs ... too mean spirited
May the best team win ... too wishy washy, besides I do want Wart#&@! to win
May the sun shine in your face, the wind stay at your back and the scoreboard tally in your favor ... too Irish
Compound W wipes out WIAC ... too commercial
Go Evil Empire ... nah, my kids like Star Wars

hmmmm...

Best of luck to THE-TEAM-THAT-SHALL-NOT-BE-NAMED

I wonder if Walston and his crew will end up at this place... http://www.pointbeer.com/brewery.php

I would recommend the Horizon Wheat or Oktoberfest.
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

And Dubuque may have suffered a similiar fate, had they not been playing Galena or Rock Grove or who ever Waldorf.

Rock Grove? - you actually know where that wide spot in the road is?

You bring up some good points.  The time for yelling after the game is way past time.  You don't fire up the guys after they have just lost a game.  A coach needs to express himself and coach but I don't think that the time is after the game to yell at the players.  Say what you need to say in an adult clear way and then move on.  If Coach B yelled at his players the way he yelled at the refs I can imagine that parents were upset.

I agree with DF2004.  especially late in the season, with just one game left.  that yelling may have been necessary a month earlier.  Then again, was it excessive celebration that kept them out of OT?

ok, got to reply to this COY babble.  To start, McMartin was fortunate to get COY for his 23 or so straight wins in the IIAC, after all he only did what was expected after 2004.

If there was a hose job in Coach Willis' past it was 2003,  Simpson swept both POY and COY.  I saw that team beat Central and Donnenworth carried them.  I believe Warts had a run at POY (can't remember the name, 2 way guy?) but Donnenworth meant more to Simpson than McGrew meant to Loras this year.  Having said that Willis did not deserve to lose COY to Neiman.

This year, Willis lost to a MIAC bottom dweller, albeit an improved bottom dweller, and then fullfilled my prediction of beating Central then losing to someone"they shouldn't have"  although Central wasn't there to take advantage.  Now, don't get upset Beaver backers maybe BV was better than Warts and they are the ones who lost the "shouldn't have" game.  But my point is he took over the conference favorite, lost two games and got help (from who?) to win the title.  Not exactly shoo-in credentials for COY.   If you don't want to be second place take care of business week in and week out, the awards will then take care of themselves.

Besides, Anderson took his team to new unexpected heights this year, he is also deserving.

I'd like to be the first to congratulate my knights on their HUGE Win today on the road.  26-21

They gave up some yards on D(just like all year)  but they made plays when they needed to.
Forced 3 turnovers  and partially blocked a punt.

yordi had a great game and so did his 2 WR's - actually there were a lot of guys who played well, too many too mention

too bad the #8 seed didn't win like I needed to, was hoping to see them next week @ Walston

DutchFan2004

I will be the second to congratulate the Knights.  The Knights played very well all game long.  Way to win over the WIAC Champs.

Maybe the IIAC isn't as weak as we or the rest of the nation thought.  Good job Knights.

Dubuque had a 4th and long from the 30 with about 2 minutes left and made a TD on the play.  Ref then threw the excessive celebration flag and the Spartans missed the XP try from the 25 yd line.  Game went into OT where the Knight scored first and Dubuque could not answer.  So, pretty much that flag kept the Spartans from beating the team that just beat the WIAC champ in Wisconsin!!!

Great job, Wartburg! Way to represent the IIAC.

Warty, did you make it to the game? Will you go to Monmouth?
Two words:  THE STREAK

I would like to say congrats to UWSP for a great season, they just ran into a knight team that probably played their best game of the year.

                              WAY TO GO KNIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
