Sportsknight and the rest of the Wartburg fans heading to Monmouth.
I see everyone is wondering about a tailgate area. Well I am a Knight parent that reads the IIAC borad and thought I would register to let everyone know that I have been in contact with Coach Beck and they have set up an area a couple blocks from the field for Wartburg fans to tailgate. The address is Parking lot near corner of N 5th St & Euclid Ave. 1 block west of the tennis courts. Field is on 6th ST.

Thanks for the heads-up, KP.  Looking at the map, it looks like that location is only 3 blocks from the stadium, which should work out well.  It won't quite as easy in/easy out as last weekend, but should work out just fine.

Have you been able to talk anymore West Dubuque folks into coming down for the game?

As long as we can leave at half time and get back in. 3 blocks in 20 minutes should be enough to re-energize.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

That location is VERY close to campus and the field.  No worries.

Having been at Monmouth last week, here is some advise. Do NOT plan on tailgating near the field. We have an organized Parent group that was set up at the baseball field around 6 blocks away and then shuttled to the game. The area was paved and was a great lot...except that the baseball field had been winterized and you had to travel 4 blocks to use the john. Parking around the football field is scarce at best. Get there EARLY if you want a spot. Eat before you get there..the hot chocolate was watered down candy bars and the hot dogs were gross. The fans are MOSTLY very nice. Lastly, for those bringing people who hate the cold, the Library is off of one end zone and had free coffee during the game.

Believe there is a few.  Have a pretty good group of Family coming down to cheer on the knights.

With students being on break, I wouldn't give up on the tennis court lot.

p.s. Ross might not have been drunk after all.

I'll be at the tennis court lot.

Actually scot, that was a direct quote from one of yours. As for myself.....I could have cared less. I was just passing the info given to me. And I will say this...that quote....it was from one of the Monmouth PARENTS!!!

That article was the funniest thing I have read in awhile.   Just like the Hawks, Ross brought his "A" game to Minnesota.

Please cite all sources in your in your initial post to avoid what we refer to as academic dishonsesty.

As for any allegations of "culinary dishonesty," I thought the hot dogs were pretty good.  I didn't try the hot cocoa, but noticed a lot of steam coming from within the cups, ie. they got the "hot" part correct, at least!   :D

Besides, something tells me that the Wartburg fans will have enough tailgating fare (hopefully, fried turkey - and lots of it) to avoid any trips to our little ol' concession stand.

just purchased an oil-free turkey fryer
Please tell us more. I was sold on fried turkey years ago, but an oil-free option would be Nobel Prize worthy.
I will let you know how it turns out. The unit (Char-Broil: The Big Easy) is advertised on Bob and Tom & sold at Lowes, Menards, etc.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Recently someone commented that they missed Lance Harbor and his stats. Me, too.

When Wartburg came out to Oregon a few years ago, he, Tyler Denstad and Tank drove straight through to get here.
Now those are dedicated fans! Where are they now? The last Mrs. C. heard from Lance, he was in Virginia and Tyler D was in California, but that was a while ago.
