Here is some trivia:

Rank these in order from highest to lowest. I just researched them and was kind of surprised.

That is part of it. The other part is me supposed to be singing in church Sunday. And of course convincing my wife that a third Saturday needs to be spent on the road, although I think she wants to come with me this time.

More UWW trivia:

4 Warhawks have gone on to professional sports careers:
-  Bob Wickman, former MLB pitcher
-  Derek Stanley, WR for the Rams
-  Pete Schmitt, FB/TE for the Redskins
-  Punter Matt Turk, who has played for the Rams, Redskins, Dolphins, Jets, Rams, and Texans, and is not the Simpson SID, even though they have the same name.

Also, current Boston College head football coach Jeff Jagodzinski is a UWW alum.

Walston, you might be the most delusional person I have ever met/read/talked to. What does undefeated in conference have anything to do with ANYTHING? You won your conference, we won ours. We beat you if I am the coach the last 1:42. Your posts make everyone around you dumber, but go ahead and dream inside your little bubble and may God have mercy on your soul.

If you were coach Scots4, Monmouth wouldn't have been that close with under 2 minutes to play.

I wasn't at the game, and I'm just catching up now, but I would venture the guess that it is a VERY tough call to make whether to run the ball to set up the victory formation or put the ball in the conference's best player's hands.  Seems as though the boastfulness and arrogance of the winners is equally matched by the p*ssing and moaning of the losers.  It makes it that much sweeter to be the slaughterhouse for the poor MWC champion lambs every year.  We all know it is tough after earning the conference's second post-season win since the turn of the century... but take the win as consolation, take the fact you've got a great QB for 2 more years as consolation, and quit ripping Wartburg's "awful fans" to vent your frustrations that you lost a game.

By the way, arrogance can easily be misconstrued with confidence... especially to those that lack it.  Keep it up WH... and tell the wife and the kids hi from Cedar Rapids!!

I didnt come on here to vent or anything. I simply replied to hostility that was unwarranted. I just felt like Walston did a complete 180 on his civility and class leading up to the game. I'm over it.

The problem I had at the Monmouth-Wartburg game was the tailgating and security. The reason why that made me mad is because plastic cups and beer had always been accepted on campus UNTIL the football game. What I mean is on Friday we could have sat outside and played bags drinking out of plastic cups and nothing would have been said. Now that there are outsiders on campus no one was allowed to do anything. Why the double standard? I was in shock.

Boom was a ton. When he got hurt there towards the end I had mixed feelings. I never like to see anyone get hurt playing sports, but I thought that him being slowed down was the only chance Monmouth had of stopping him. I was glad to see him come back in the game later.

Question: Monmouth played Wartburg last year and the year before. Monmouth played Loras this year. Will Monmouth play Loras to open the season again? I am not sure what kind of agreements are made in non-con but I think Monmouth has a tradition of home and homes. If any of you know I would appreciate an answer.

Response to this page of posts:

However, Monmouth beat who was on their schedule and should have beaten Wartburg if not for a horrific error in coaching judgement.

You can't talk about if's in football.  there are a thousand IF's over the course of the year.  i didnt watch the game, listen to it, or anything.  from what i've read by both teams, Wartburg wanted it more.

Haha ok, how about "hads?"    Had I been coaching Monmouth in the final 1:42, then they win.

Good Luck to Wartburg in the game at UW-Whitewater. Will there be any video to this game? I know I will be able to find it on audio.

I think your had supposes that you as coach would have had them in the same position does it not?

Not at all, did you read what I said? I specifically said in the last 1:42. Like I have said about 6 times now, Coach Bell is a terrific coach. I just think he made an awful decision in the heat of battle.

There you go Dsquared. This makes the 7th time now!
Also, the "slaughterhouse" is a 2pt win? You guys have taken everything way out of context and blown my opinionated analysis of the game into p*ssing and moaning.

The slaughterhouse isn't a 2-point win.  It is the futility that IS the MWC.  The conference champ on a yearly basis gets thrown to some better team to be eaten up and spit out.  This year, it happened to be Monmouth against WB.  In recent history, it has been St. Norbert's getting thrown to the St. John's wrecking crew... but the results are nonetheless consistent.  A team that is "worse" than your precious Scots now has as many wins in this post-season as your entire conference does since 2000.  The fact that the MWC is one of the automatic bids floors me... maybe it's time to look at taking more WIAC schools, more MIAC schools, or dare I say it... 2 IIAC schools... on a more frequent basis and leave the MWC champs hoping and praying for an at-large bid.

On a side note... Alfie... good to see you posting up here.  What are the holiday plans for you and the family?  Will you be down at D&E's in Cedar Rapids pre-Christmas?  My last day will be Tuesday the 23rd, then I'm done until the new year.  Get in touch with me to see if lunch would work either Monday or Tuesday of that week before Christmas.  Tell the fam hi from Mr. and Mrs. Dover.
