BTW, he has a lot of friends left on this year's team.  Suggest you don't want to get those boys all riled up because the Wartburg fans were trashing Mitch on a web site!   ;) ;D

.

so, let me get this straight, WW is going to need more to play for then national championship asperations (i know it wouldnt be enough to get me motivated - i'd atleast need some cash on the line as well), so they will play for a friend (possible friend) that is no longer on the team getting "bashed" by some guys that are alum of the school they are playing, which was started by someone who's only connection to the school is that his son attended the school years back (DF04, dont know when your 1st son went there), and didnt even play football?

give me a break.
Probably not..............but, hey............................. every little bit helps!  ;)

Seriously, this has gotten a little crazy and I apologize for my part and getting swept up in it.  I am considered by many to be a voice of reason, believe it or not!   :D  Guess I just got a little over protective of one of the Champs and had a kneejerk response to some lack of respect shown to him by a few posters on here.

Sakman..couldn't have put it any better.  I actually attended Wartburg for a year and payed way less money becuase suppossedly (see I don't even know if that's spelled right) I earned an acedemic scholarship for 10,00 dollars on top of the other bull sh.. scholarships private colleges offer.  I then went to Whitewater and payed out of state tuition along with at least 1/3 of the people who play, which is a heck of a lot more than I payed in Waverly.  But bottom line Whitewater's coaches are better, they work on the field and off the field a heck of a lot harder, and UWW athletes are considerably better for that!! The improvement a Whitewater, a MUC, MHB player make from the time they were freshman until the time the graduate is a significant difference compared to that of the lower echelon private schools because of coaching and facilites.  NOTHING to do with how many people go to school there!! I can't wait for the game.  Wartburg can't run the ball and don't match up in any phase of the game with UWW.  And don't tell me they beat Point...Point wasn't that good, UWW just played bad.  Besides its play-off time at the Perk...and we just don't lose!!! Go Hawks 44 - 10

Walston,

Your exalum has some comments on the Wiscy board.  Thought I would post them here.  I see the coaches are so good there that they cut him from their roster.  I guess they were not good enough coaches to help him develop into a good enough player to play at UWW.  At least that is what I got from this post.

I think WW should disband their English department: they're obviously not doing their jobs.  The added benefit is that doing so would free up more money to give raises to the world's best and hardest working coaching staff and improve (if possible) the most awesome facilities EVER.
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

DF04, are you trying to stir the pot or what?

Maybe it's just me, but I've been enjoying the playoff banter sans the crap we had with the Johnnies last year. I've been amazed with how civil things have been.....I may have mistaken it for mutual respect. I thought it was a nice change of pace from years past.

Personal opinion, though.

Not at all.  Just found this funny how UWW is dissing the Knights.

I feel Champs07 post was a shot at the Knights.  I think he sent the first shot.  I know it was on the Wiscy board but still a shot at the Knights.  I have nothing but respect for the UWW accomplishments.  Beating MUC is no easy task.  UWW has a good program so why all the hate towards opponents?  Just responding to the shots taken at Wartburg.  I know how good your team and how nice the Perk is as being there in 05 was a nice experience.  Not losing but going to the game.

Actually is was #2 son that went to Wartburg.  He graduated in the spring of 05.  You are correct that he did not play football.  The premed studies and football didn't mix for him.  He likes the game but felt that playing FB was not in the best interests of becoming a Dr.  You have a pretty good memory though.  +k for the knowledge.

WB has a football game this week?

for the WW fans that are predicting 44-10 and 48-10 scores please send me an email and we'll put a  wager on my knights getting 35 pts if you feel that strongly about it.

I'll send a check up with WH and he can collect/pay for me since I'm not able to make the 10 hr trip from KC.

I probably do  need 45 points but i'll take the 35

Nice stuff. Somewhere between " my dick is bigger than your dick" and an eighth grade girls slumber party. Just make sure if you post something stupid on the other guys board, you come back and let us all know. We wouldn't want to find your stupid stuff by mistake.

Knight Parent

I don't know if we will have a grill so it is a bring your own food and grill. The tailgate location is in the southeast portion of lot 11, which is just south of Perkins Field. We have 20 spots reserved in the parking lot for Wartburg Fans at first come first serve bases to park as a group (cost is $3 to park). One spot will be reserved for the grills and the munchies table. Other spots to park will be available in the lots.
We will be setting up the munchies table if you would like to bring a small dish or goodies to share with all the tailgaters.  EVERYONE is invited to the tailgate party!!!!!!!    BYOB.
Look for the orange and black.

(Click here for a campus map)

Please pass it on if you know anyone coming up.

GO KNIGHTS

Your link to the campus map doesn't seem to be working so thought I would post one again.  Enjoy tailgating at the game.  We have a great time and, hopefully, will see a big crowd but weather like this tends to separate the men from the boys, so to speak.  I know a few people who are headed to the bars instead but not a die-hard like me.  Will be there in my best winter duds.  Safe travels to all making their way to Perkins Stadium and wishing a great, injury-free game for both teams.

So you're ripping on an old Knight when we've been getting ripped by the WW faithful?  Way to be like the rest of the board and support an IIAC club that has made it this far into the playoffs.  If I'm not mistaken, even last year the evil Knight faithful were supportive of the Dutch going into the game against Bethel.  Too bad all IIAC fans can't be supportive of whatever team makes it in and support that team's fans when they are trying to defend their school.

D^2 -- where have you been all season? Come on, buddy, no one (especially from the IIAC board) is ripping on the Knights. Thunderbolt was commenting on the situation at large. Chill.

On top of things as usual dutchfan1. Your post just prior to mine wasn't on the board yet when I started typing Dsquared. Nothing personal towards you. I had been away from the computer all day and was anxious to catch up, only to find: "he started it" yada yada yada- "yea but he said this first" yada yada yada. Don't worry about me supporting the IIAC, I'll be at the Perk on Saturday wearing my blaze orange hunting garb. Not much else orange in my closet.

thanks for helping with this. With the weather calling for snow and cold I think you could be rignt only the die-hards will probably be tailgating . I will be there beverage in hand and my wife will probably be in the van (with it running) staying warm. Stop by for a drink if you would like, deep down us Wartburg fans are pretty friendly and easy going. I also wish for a great injury free game for both teams. Both teams should be proud of there accomplishments so far. To me they both are 2-0 in there playoff season so let' see who puts everything together and comes out the victor. Best of luck

GO KNIGHTS!!!!

D O.C.

dutchfan1...if you put any stock in what you say happened in the room shift, you are crazy not to be on a South Seas deserted island somewhere that you could see all four points of the compass by turning your head.

Oh, yeah, injury free game Saturday.

Thank you for the invitation and I may do that and you are welcome to do the same.  We Warhawk fans try to be  gracious hosts to anyone who plays at the Perk and dispite a small number of youngsters on here, are generally pretty good natured and respectful.  Many of us remember what it was like going up against the Linfield, St. John's and Raider posters a few years back when we were upstarts and we were told that every Sat would be our last. It is easy to read a post or two and lump everyone in the same boat.  Many of us know that the Knights will be a formidible opponent.  Anyone playing at this time of the year would be.   Hope to see you at the Perk.
