Now that you have come home to the midwest...I suspect the Minny, Whisky, Iowa...even IL states will pick up in your team count...hopefully anyway!!!

Wouldn't it be easier and quicker for you to list schools and states in which you haven't seen a DIII football game?

He got a late start so he will never get to see a DIII game at William Penn or Dayton like I have.

No, but nor will you see a game with Swarthmore or at Georgetown. I didn't list Georgetown but it was D-III when I was there last. Believe I saw Iona play when it was D-III too, but not 100% sure.

I've seen almost half of the D-III schools play but been in only about 30% of the stadiums.

I'm in, this looks like fun.

Salem Stadium, The Perk, UW-EC, UW-ST, UW-STP, UW-P, UW-RF, UW-OSH, UW-LC, Linfield, MaryHardin-Baylor, Lakeland, St. Norberts, Carleton, (St. Xaiver and St. Cloud are NAIA and D-2 so they don't count.)

States:   Wisconsin, Texas, Oregon, Minnesota, Virginia,

On second thought, with 11 home play-off games the last 3 years and 2 this year, my list is wimpy!   Never mind.................. ;D

Is it a case of Willis can win at Wartburg therefore he could win at Cornell?  Or is there more to it than that?

I think we can all agree there is more to winning a football game than a coach.  Obviously he has a big impact and maybe a winning coach like Willis could bring new ideas or philosophies to help get Cornell out of their slump.  But no coach is a magician who can leave a conference championship school one year and the next year go to an 0-fer school and have them win the conference.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

WCF Courier article on Wartburg coordinators

http://wcfcourier.com/articles/2008/12/05/sports/local/10821880.txt

"Dettwiler, meanwhile, had eight starters returning from the Iowa Conference's stingiest defensive unit, but the pieces didn't fall into place until midway through the season.

"Honestly, the low point was against Cornell," he said. "It got pretty heated on the sideline and things weren't going the way we anticipated. There was a sit down with all of us afterward, almost like a come to Jesus meeting, talking about how we weren't satisfied."

Yeah, but that thread is more of a "how many teams have you seen" thread.  Not a "how many stadiums have you seen" thread.  You could have seen Central play every home game over the last 40 years and seen 50-60 different D3 teams but you would have never left Pella.  I was more interested in how many places people have gone to watch D3 football...and college football in general.

Plus, not many from this board ever wander over there.
