UMHB will have their hands full with LC and MC (especially in Clinton)  Better not look past the next two!
More upsets - TLU over SR
                                  McM over HPU
HSU over ETBU (who who have put this as an upset)

Just one question considering McM has beaten HPU 2 of the last 3 meetings how would you consider this an upset?

HSU over ETBU will not be an upset.  MC needs to play better defense.

I agree that LC and MC are improved, but so has UMHB defense. It appears LC and MC defense is having issues stopping anyone consistently, especially the run. If they can't stop the run it will be a long day for both teams. Coach Fred usually does a good job of getting the Cru to focus on the game ahead. Besides the next two are the de facto conference championship games, so who would we be looking to. I agree with Bill McCabe the HSU game is not an upset. I think they would be favored over ETBU at any location.

It was very poor quality last week.  They should give MC a call to see how they do theirs.

Thanks for the props TigerDad. I had a great time in Abilene. Would love to make it to San Antonio someday, since I missed Wesley's trip there in 2000.

Harolds was great, kicked Georgia and south Carolina's butt in BBQ department. Sorry I missed Schoepfs, maybe next time. The steak at Lytle's Landing was excellent too!

I would have addressed the SCAC a little more this week since there's a lot going on there too, but I was running out of time.

Thanks for the shout out, Conrad! I appreciate it, that has to come with some Karma points right?

Anyways, Shoepfs does have the regular ribs during the week.  I tell ya though, there is a place in Morgan's Point, basically the Belton Lake area, where they have these Bubba Taters.  Man, they are huge and good.  They'll put your BBQ right there on the tater and it is great!
Is Pearidge BBQ still on 2307 and Pearidge road?  They had some great BBQ there too.  Of course if you don't mind the drive to Green's Sausage House in Zabcikville, Greens will do you right as well.

I'm not familiar with that place.  I'll pretty much take any BBQ I can.

The Pearidge BBQ you speak of is now Chuck's BBQ, and is at the same location. That is FM 2305 (W. Adams) and Pearidge Rd.  In addition to BBQ and Steaks they have all you can eat catfish on Friday nights.

It's always a learning experience, but if there still is no wired internet access at the HS stadium where MHB plays, they're pretty limited in what they can do.   The bandwidth you can get via cellular is usually quite narrow compared to a decent wired connection.

TigerDad, I really appreciate your comments about McM and the 6 senior players on the team.  McM has struggled through this decade.  Trinity, HSU and MHB are examples of the type of programs that consistently have put consistent winners on the field and in the classroom.  Trinity and HSU may not be having the season that we all expected but I am sure they will be back on top quickly.

My son was one of those that played for 4 years at McM (+1 year as a graduate assistant).  The few that played with him are some of the finest young men that I have ever known.  I am sure this years 6 seniors are of the same quality.  It takes a lot of heart to stay and try and make a difference, it is a lot easier to leave and go somewhere else.

Hopefully, McM will win a couple more games this year and establish a firm foundation for the future.  The ASC and the other Texas D3 programs will all benefit.

McMurry, 37-13.  Final

That margin of victory over HPU is the largest since the 1993 Aztec Bowl McMurry team beat the Jackets, 35-7.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.
