And you don't even get to travel very far on the segment of I-20 that has the 80 MPH speed limit.

Boy, howdy, we drove from El Paso to Austin on I-10 (until just E of Junction) and driving 85 sure does make that part of the country go by in a relative hurry.
Operative word in this statement is RELATIVE;D
Went to Alpine last year for the UMHB/SRU game and it took me 3 80mph signs before I beilieved it. Might as well have been 90mph the way people were driving.  ;D

Congrats to HPU for a great win, close friend Hunter Sims and former foe Jordan Neal on getting their team ready to play!! Great win!! Good luck this weekend on UMHB!!

What a great weekend it looks to be!! Will be coming to Abilene Saturday to watch the McM HSU game this weekend. The campus is real excited about the game, and so are the alumni!! Looking forward to a great game with us coming out on top!! I look forward to see the "Air Raid" against the HSU defense that likes to put pressure on QB's.  Will see y'all at the game...Let's go TRIBE beat those Cowboys!!! Ala Cumba!!! And I am looking forward to some Alfredo's Nachos, it's been too long!! Safe travel to all!!

Finkle89,

You got two things wrong in your post. MCM's air raid doesn't get it done on HSU this weekend. And you go to Alfredo's for the Carne Asada Burrito not the nachos. You can melt shreded cheese on chips in your own microwave. LOL!

Go Cowboys Beat MCDIRTY!

My all-time UMHB offense.
QB- Fredenburg, TJ Clock-Killa Theis
RB- Bryson, 07 QD, 04 Rollins, Thrasher
FB- Starnes, Shinnbone (He did score the first TD)
TE- Sharpe, Medlock, Mr. 100%
X- Austin, P.O., Ervin is closing in
Z- PJ, PiDadro
OL- Oliver, Waco, Davis, Mike B., Woodall  Bush was a great center, but he didnt have the strength of Davis, although Bush was always at the "Head" of the class.
Littlejohn was the next guard, but Mike B and Waco were so athletic.

Hey everybody!  Long time no talk!   ;D

Been real busy with a new job but have tried to keep up with all the posts (and have done a horrible job).  Seems like UMHB has once again had their annual "hiccup" like we have had in years past.  Although I believe that MC is on the rise and becoming a good football team.  I hope UMHB learns from it and gets a chance to show their stuff in the playoffs this year.

I did get to see them play against TLU in Seguin this year as it is pretty close to San Antonio and it was a night game.  They seemed very athletic on both sides of the ball with some really good looking kids.

As for this fantasy football thing, I only have one rebuttle to RyeMc3.  You actually had more tackles our senior year than I did, and since we split so much time as the MLB going from our 32 to 23 front, I think you should take my place on the list.  Either way, we are both just washed up has beens now anyways...
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

COWBOYS WIN...GO COWBOYS... BEAT MCMURRY.......

SOUTH REGION
1. Wesley 5-0 8-0
2. Hampden-Sydney 8-0 8-0
3. Thomas More 8-0 8-0
4. Huntingdon 4-0 7-1
5. Mississippi College 6-1 6-2
6. Mary Hardin-Baylor 5-1 7-1
7. Centre 7-1 7-1
8. Dickinson 7-1 7-1
9. Washington and Jefferson 7-1 7-1
10. DePauw 6-1 6-1

Biggest surprise to me is Huntingdon going from 8 in week 1 to 4 this week. At worst I though we would stay at 5, with an outside chance of being 4. I haven't analyzed the other 3 regions but assuming UMHB wins out I am concerned about our chances of getting a pool C bid. Any thoughts from the veterans out there.

UMHB is currently the first team at the table from the South Region.

That means that they would have to "passed over" 6 times in favor of some other team for UMHB to miss the playoffs.

I think that UMHB is in, but will fly somewhere in the "West" or "South" Brackets.

I hoped you would put your usual rational take on it. Helps aleviate my anxiety ;)

UMHB wins and drops to 6th.  I would say this is NCAA at their best.  It will be an anxious Selection Sunday if the Cru wins out.

Please don't tell me there is a way we could be shipped to the West region, I'm ok with us being moved to another region but currently according to D3football.com, that region has the 6 teams in the Top 10. As opposed to the the East which has none, the North has 2, and the South has two if you count UMHB.

If we are going to be shipped somewhere that will require a plane trip why not ship us somewhere that could possibly even out the regions?

they will get in...looks like they are in the same boat as UWW was in last year: one loss and ranked in the middle of the region. Besides, if UMHB didn't make it..who would we play in the semi's then? it just wouldn't be the same  8)

finkle89

Thanks Toby!! I'll be getting the full order of Nachos to make up for some lost time!!

If HSU blitzs like they do, the air raid will pick apart man defenses all day long!! A good reciever can out work a DB in man coverage more times then not, since we know where we are going!! Go TRIBE beat the Cowgirls (wasn't going to use Cowgirls until you called us McDirty : ) )

I hope you are right, but it still makes me nervous.  :o
