2003 UMHB top pool C team left out. What makes this year differant. Going west would be great as long as we are in.

If the Regional Rankings have UMHB in the bottom half, such that they would not be given a home game, then I would rather see them shipped to a bracket outside the bracket that contains Miss College.   :)

That 2003 was very good and I still don't see how they were left out.  Too bad HSU and UMHB couldn't have been in different regions the past 2 years.

Baldwin-Wallace, Simpson and Bethel were the Pool C bids that year.

Since 2003, the NCAA has changed the rules so a game against the NWC counts.  They have expanded the playoffs to 32 teams,  and they have added more Pool C bids.

They have also tweaked the Strength of Schedule calculations.

Thanks Toby!! I'll be getting the full order of Nachos to make up for some lost time!!
They have now added "Asada Fries" which is basically the nacho supreme on fries instead of chips.  Easier to eat with a fork AND they are 50 cent cheaper than the 1/2 order of nachos.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

UMHB should get in for sure! One loss to a REALLY good team. They have had success in the playoffs and are one of the few teams in the country with national respect. However, I understand the nervousness. Putting your fate in the hands of an NCAA Committee is like putting healthcare in the hands of....oh never mind.

They should get in!

Thanks Toby, might have to try that out!! I have to bring an order if nachos home for my wife who's expecting our second child, need to keep the peace at home LOL!!

When are you coming into Abilene?  I'd happily meet you at Alfredo's for a pre-game lunch or a post-game snack.  I live just a few blocks from McMs Baseball field, and always enjoy meeting posters to the board.

SOUTH REGION
1. Wesley 5-0 8-0
2. Hampden-Sydney 8-0 8-0
3. Thomas More 8-0 8-0
4. Huntingdon 4-0 7-1
5. Mississippi College 6-1 6-2
6. Mary Hardin-Baylor 5-1 7-1
7. Centre 7-1 7-1
8. Dickinson 7-1 7-1
9. Washington and Jefferson 7-1 7-1
10. DePauw 6-1 6-1

Biggest surprise to me is Huntingdon going from 8 in week 1 to 4 this week. At worst I though we would stay at 5, with an outside chance of being 4. I haven't analyzed the other 3 regions but assuming UMHB wins out I am concerned about our chances of getting a pool C bid. Any thoughts from the veterans out there.

they will get in...looks like they are in the same boat as UWW was in last year: one loss and ranked in the middle of the region. Besides, if UMHB didn't make it..who would we play in the semi's then? it just wouldn't be the same  8)
That's what I want another balmy 5 degree day in the lovely hamlet of Whitewater, WI ;) If it comes to that maybe the 3rd time is the charm.

"McDirty?"

You cant beat the atmosphere of the semi final game in Whitewater. I think the weather in Belton last year during the semis was more of a factor than the cold and the ice. The only time I have seen a kickoff go backwards.  :o

It will be a nervous selection Sunday at Andersen field house thats for sure. Unless MC stumbles again....

easy guys its a term of endearment. You will also have to use Almost Christian (ACU) since we are throwing caution to the wind. Good luck to both teams this weekend.

Finkle,

I wasn't aware that HSU had an All Female team out for football this year. IMHO the Cowgirls probably beat  you this weekend too. In any event you have us hands down in Swimming. Looking forward to this weekend should be a fun game. I hope to make it out so i can check out the improvements to MCDIRTY's stadium.
