Plans maybe changing my oldest woke up with SPOTS this morning.  Dr.'s appointment @ 8:45.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I just read this article about a 61 y/o planning to kick for AC on Saturday against Trinity.  http://bit.ly/3q1uce

Lots of discussion about the Austin College "kicker" over on the SCAC Board.

Chime in if you like ...

My daughter has chicken pox.  Kills the weekends plans for the family.  Crazy thing is she had the vaccine @ 6 mos (mistake by the nurse), @ 13 months (when she was supposed to, after we verified the first didn't take), and a booster before school started this year.  Crazy.  I guess we'll be watching lots of movies for the next week.

I think I am still coming to the game tomorrow, just cutting out the rest of the activities planned.  I'll be there around 11 with food to share.  The smoker will be fired off this evening.  Smoking a 10lb boston butt, and a rack of ribs (may not survive the drive  ;D).

Don't take her back to the same nurse for the H1N1 vaccine ;) I will get by sometime to see you. Looks like we have shifted to a post-game with some of the senior parents. Let me know where you will be. PM me if you like.

It's not the same guy that played linebacker at Sul Ross is it?   ;D

Latest story coming out of Seguin is that 13 football players are being investigated for abuse of another player.  This story broke the same day that Parker resigned.  The 13 players are being allowed to play tomorrow.

Anyone heard more on this story?

I'm calling the audible.  I've decided to stay in Abilene and follow the game on the net.  I guess if we get into the playoffs and find ourselves close enough for a road trip I'll try again then.

Great game today by UMHB, 2:00 can not get here fast enough. I really need for Pat to stop toying with me, on the D3 twitter he said there might be a chance we could host Maine Maritime. I am not holding my breath though, I just can't believe the NCAA would pass up a chance for a game between us and MC.

I'm from the NEFC board and believe me we do not want Maine to travel all the way down to TX for the monkey stomp that would happen. We would all rather see you play MC again and have Maine travel to Montclair ST in NJ.

Then what do you do with Huntingdon?

Great day at MC yesterday, it's been a long time since we've experienced that. Closer than it should have been, but glad it's over.

It will be interesting to see the post-season awards this year. Shaffer had the season everybody expected he would with 29 TD's and just 8 picks with 5 in that one HPU game.

Someone who hasn't been mentioned much is our tailback Steven Knight. He had a great season with 1,181 yards and went over 100 yards the final seven games with UMHB in there. Anytime you get 100 yards against the Cru, you've done something. He had 221 yesterday. He's a local kid who could have gone several places to play, with some DI track offers. He had an electronic-best 100 meter time of 10.28 in junior college. Just wanted to mention the kid, he's been great for us.

Senior Renard Ellis also should be mentioned. You won't see many tight ends put up 48 catches for 626 with 7 TD's. He's a four year guy, and I'm happy to see him go out with this kind of year.

Let's hope Pat is right with the playoff projections. I've seen enough of UMHB through the years, it would be nice to play a different opponent and have two ASC teams with an opportunity to advance.

If Pat's right, MC has to hit the road in round 1.  That doesn't seem right

My first thought about the proposed brackets is UMHB to the East? However, Pat is pretty good at this and it would be interesting.  A home game would be nice but then you have that trip to Alliance.  I just hope he is right about UMHB getting a Pool C bid.
