Seriously,  football season needs to get here in a hurry.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Agreed Toby, just booked my tickets to La Crosse on Friday, here's hoping UMHB has better luck then my previous trips to Wisconsin.

62 days and counting.

Where are you flying into and where did you find your tickets?

To see Quincy's name on the second team is awesome, and I really think he will do some great things this year if he can stay healthy. He has to get the heavy dose of the workload and really carry the Cru offensively. The fact that he is coming back really shows his desire to play, cause when I talked to him last year, he really didn't have much desire to come back. I'm pumped that he decided to do this, and he must have a hunger to prove something. This does not bode well for opposting defenses. Quincy has a huge work ethic and I look forward to seeing him work hard on the field this fall.

I also enjoyed seeing Feaster listed as well. I hope he has a good enough season to have his team end up second behind the Cru. I want to see him go against our defense. Missed that last year. Dave Campbell has UMHB winning the division again, but I know it will be tough.

Can anyone tell me what the makeup of our team looks like this season? Any surprising stars coming up the ranks to watch? What does our O and D line look like?

We are flying out of DFW into Milwakuee on Friday afternoon (going to a Brewers-Cub game that night) and flying out on Sunday. Found the tickets on Expedia for under $200 round trip, however there is an airport in La Crosse you can fly into but we couldnt pass up the baseball game.

Milwaukee to Lacrosse is a little of bit of a haul. Safe travels.

Just 214 miles... That is a short road trip in the ASC.   ;D

Regents for Texas Lutheran University have appointed Robert Vogel, former president of Wartburg College, to serve as interim president following the abrupt departure of Ann Svennungsen in May.

Vogel begins Monday. He will lead the school while regents conduct a national search for a new president. Svennungsen, who joined Texas Lutheran in July 2007, cited professional and considerations in her decision to leave.

Vogel retired as president of Wartburg College, a Lutheran college in Waverly, Iowa, in 1998. Since retirement, he has served as interim president at three Lutheran colleges: Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa; Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa; and Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Vogel lives in Denver, Colo., with his wife Sally. Vogel's great uncle, William Kraushaar, served as TLU's president from 1929 to 1954. Vogel and his wife will move into the president's home in Seguin next month.

It is a tad long but we couldn't pass up the chance to see a new MLB park. Also like the other guys said long road trips are the norm if you want to see some non home games in the ASC. I quickly ran the numbers and the average road trip from UMHB to the other cities in the ASC is 270 miles and we are much more centraly located than some of our opponents.

During a stay in San Angelo, I remember a steak house a bit out of town that had a dirt landing strip for customers with small planes that wanted to have dinner and one of the huge steaks at the restaurant.  Seems to me that football games rate  higher than dinner and steak, even good ones.  Where are all those landing strips next to the ASC stadia?   ;)

D O.C.

You can have the dirt strips easily but the maintenance of rolling all the dang armadillo holes can be a bit tiresome and downright dangerous if you go overnight.

Somehow I was pleasantly surprised too...BUT!....ya'll have that same top ten problem of your passing game to straighten out.

Good health to Justin F. for that last sweet ride. He got thrown but he got right back on.
