I just watched Quincy Daniels interview from after the ETBU game and all I have to say is WOW...I always thought UMHB had a class program on the field, but that interview right there shows me how class of a program UMHB is off the field.  That was not what I was expecting when I clicked on the interview.  I expected to hear how UMHB kept ETBU in the game or something along those lines, and instead some of the first words out of his mouth are him congratulating ETBU and their coaching staff on being ready to play and bringing it for 60+ minutes.  Thats a classy individual and UMHB just gained alot of respect in my book.

I see, Thanks Ralph.  I think that is a pretty cool feature.  I like your vocabulary choice with smited.

If you want to boost your karma, go over to the OAC board and start talking about how Mount Union should be a DII school. ;)

And take the Warhawks with them. :)

I'd like to think that is just a good indication of the class of most DIII athletes in general. Most are very fine young men and women.

Has anyone heard that UT Arlington is trying to get back into football and what division school would it be in if they did get football back?

crufootball

According to this http://www.uta.edu/sportsexpansion/, when they really looked into it in 2005 they were thinking about being in DI-AA which they compete in for all other sports.

Also I thought I remembered them eventually saying it was too costly since it was unknown how much interest they could gather.

UTA talked to us about DIII in 2005, haven't heard from them since.  They have a great stadium and plenty of schools in the DFW Metroplex area from which to recruit, but a lot of competition from other schools.  I don't see a university of their size playing DII, but maybe that's possible.

So any last minute arguements from the HSU-McM folks, I was expecting this to be a busy week on the boards due to the success of McMurry this year.

Their women's basketball and men's baseball are big-time.

They won't move to D-II.

LC was a little sluggish on both sides of the ball today. Not the Cats best performance, but good enough for a 38-21 win. The Wildcats will have to play better next week if they are going to hang with McMurry.

McMurry battled it out well against HSU today. Props to those guys for such vast improvement. I sure hope Jake Mullin's shoulder injury isn't at all serious. He's an impressive athlete.

McMurry  no longer has an Indian mascot because the NCAA believes that it is potentially demeaning to Native Americans.  Towards the end of the McM-HSU game, a lot of the HSU fans, including some members of the Cowboy Band, were loudly chanting Indian cries and waving their arms like imaginary tomahawks  Should the NCAA maybe be made aware of the fact that HSU seems to allow demeaning of Native Americans?

mcmfan -- They were waving their hands. The "tomahawks" were in your mind. ;D

Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

I am sure that someone's Youtube or Facebook video posting will allow us to judge what they were doing.   ;)

Toby Taff

they were chanting and doing the "tomahawk chop" before halftime.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Ralph -- And the scoreboard leaves no doubt about who won. ;D
BTW, despite the Abilene Reporter-News headline's having put McM first as having lost - again -- the fact is that HSU won!
Another BTW -- how is Mullin? It looked like a Romo-type injury.
