Yes, as I have read elsewhere a #1 will host a #2.  A #2 in the Wesley bracket will host a #2 from another bracket.

One other factor that doesn't always show up on paper is the fact that the Cru has traveled via charter flights on a consistent basis for the last few years.

This is something that I don't believe the teams in the east or midwest do on a regular basis, so I don't believe the travel logisitics and timeline or an away game to be much of a factor.  It will all come down to execution and who gets the breaks.

roocru, congrats on your impending grandfatherhood.  we will miss being with you this year if that is how it plays out.  tell your son good luck and jason says hi.  this weeks game is going to be a good one.  is anyone making the trip?  some of the stone station gang are heading up.

I cannot come.  One of the coaches who worked for me for fifteen years has a son getting married this Saturday.  Fortunately the wedding is at 4pm and I think I can watch the game finish before the wedding starts!  :D

If you are going all that way to Wesley...

http://www.doverdowns.com/

It's nearby the campus and has a decent coffee shop at moderate prices.
The rooms themselves are very nice.
Don't know the cost, I have 'em comped  8-)

Those good Southern Baptists from UMHB won't be caught dead in the casino, so they will avoid them like the plague.

As for American Baptists from Linfield, they must be different.   ;)

Four Selected To DIII All-Star Game
SALEM, Va. -- Four Hardin-Simmons football players have been named to play in the Division III Football Senior Classic this weekend in Salem, Va.

The game pits all-stars from around the nation in a North vs. South format.

Defensive end Hank Hornsby, offensive guard Cody Honeycutt, quarterback Justin Feaster and wide receiver ZaVious Robbins have been selected to play in the game that will be played at Salem Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

All four were first-team all-ASC selections and four year standouts for the Cowboys.

Congratulations to these HSU Cowboys.  (Just getting the stadium warmed up for the CRU!!!---I hope!)
I don't know the other ASC members who may be playing.  Does anyone know if it will be on TV?

I bet some of those "good Southern Baptists" will in fact enter the Casino ... disguised as Lutherans.  ;)

No Warren, They'll go in strictly for the purposes of witnessing. ;)

Actually, UMHB is better classified these days as a Texas Baptist institution.  There is a difference, and while many Texas Baptists will call themselves Southern Baptists still, I bet far fewer Southern Baptists would identify as Texas Baptists.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Just shared this on the Wesley board, but I believe that this has the makings of a D3 classic. It has become a post season rivalry, with much tension and respect.  Should be great one on Saturday!  Go Cru!

What a shame, Quincy didn't make the final four for the Gagliardi. Obviously, I don't know much of what goes in to picking the final four or the winner, but I can't imagine anyone doing more than Quincy. Shocked!  :o    >:(    ???

I completely agree with that sentiment. I am certainly glad to see the ASC represented and offer congratulations to Ben Mclaughlin. He has amassed some gaudy statistics at LC, and I'm sure that he's more than deserving with his off the feild endeavours. If he was not he would not be in this position.

However, when you look at the career of Quincy Daniels, and the community impact that he has, this is certainly a head scratcher. I cannot imagine a better ambassador for our school, conference, sport, or D-3.

Congrats to LC's Ben McLaughlin being named a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy!
