Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

All-Region teams out today.  17 ASC players named to the teams.  In an interesting result, MC defensive back Luke Petitto earned a Second Team selection after not even garnering an Honorable Mention selection in the ASC postseason awards.  Very interesting, indeed!  Congrats, Luke!  Well-deserved!

There is so much depth in the talent in the ASC that it does not surprise who makes and who is left off the respective teams.

Seniors Ben McLaughlin and Justin Feaster got 1st and 2nd team honors in the conference, but I am very happy that Jake Mullin was McMurry's QB.   :)

Congratulations to McMurry's Will Morris and Dez Baker for making the All-Region team.

Kelly Boggs

Congratulations to Louisiana College's Ben McLaughlin and Nate Janzen for being name to the South All-Region Team.

McLaughlin, a senior, was named 1st team QB and Janzen, a sophomore, was name to the 3rd team at linebacker.

Surprised that UMHB had no defensive players on any of the All-Region teams.  Offense and Special Teams well represented.  Congrats to all who made the squads.

Respectfully, I thought that UMHB's defense was relatively suspect this season, compared to previous years.

Also, please remember that D3sports.com does not load up the all-star teams with 5 D-linemen, 4 LB's and 7 DB's per team.  If you will notice, that team could go onto the field as an 11-man unit.

Thats how I prefer the post-season awards teams to be.  It makes it more significant than some of the watered down teams that we see today.

Congratulations to ALL the ASC football players to be selected for the All South Team!  HSU had five players!!!
And since others have been named, here are the Cowboys:

ZaVious Robbins
Koby Parker

And with the retirement of Jimmie Keeling, HSU will start a new era.

Has HSU said anything publicly anyway about when they want to announce the new coach?

EDIT: Never mind I see they are making an announcement today, any guess on who it could be?
