Great news for Jerrell Freeman who appears to be heading to the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. I have not found anything in an American paper but the Canandian papers are talking about it and Jerrell tweeted about it last night.

This former freshwater, all-male military academy (grades 9-12 + two years of college) in what was a little town in the Hill Country has come a long way.

UMHB announced the groundbreaking for the new stadium/student union complex. the price tag for the complex is expected to be over 50 million. that's a lot of coin. I expected the 21 mil quoted earlier to be the cost of the complex but apparently that was just the cost of the stadium.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Guess the commissioner of the ASC is pretty petty. This is embarrassing to treat McMurry like this. She should be fired for not caring about the student athletes on the baseball team and basically for being a spiteful idiot.

"It's kind of a strange deal," Mumme said. "The NCAA told us we could recruit like Division II, which means we could pay for visits and things like that. Then the commissioner of the ASC (Amy Carlton) came back and told us were weren't allowed to or she'd make the baseball team ineligible. That part's been kind of disgusting. I don't know what football recruiting for our first season of D-II has to do with spring sports in D-III.

Lago Vista's Tai Gadison (QB, 5'10") says he is going to UMHB (incorrectly reported as a signing by local media).  Was at Rouse HS last year, moved to Lago Vista this season and sat out.   Father, Joe Gadison, is an assistant T&F coach at Concordia.

It was a great day on Friday in Belton as UMHB broke ground for the new stadium/student union building. Thought I would share some of the specifications that were in the Temple Daily Telegram for anyone interested.

The stadium will have a capacity of 9,206 with 4,867 being in the lower bowl, 2,793 in the upper bowl, 1,500 for standing room and 46 seats in the Executive Suite. There will be a 40x22 foot LED video board, 3 locker rooms and a very large press box.
