umhb2001, your concern is warranted.  Over most of the game they were unable to mount much of a consistant running game.  It is what kept the game close.  Now you have to credit Wesley's defense for some of that, but the Cru was in 3rd down situations an aweful lot in this game.  Bailey made the difference on 2 plays that turned negative plays, both called pass plays into scrambles for a td.  Wilson was not in the game at the time of the series you show, he was injured on a great run on his part when he was tackled just short of the goal line.  These teams are very close, but I think Wesley has more upside than UMHB does from what I saw Saturday.

We'll see, I think UMHB is good and can play better. They seem to start off slow early in the season. We have young players who are learning quite a bit and our WR's are very new. Both teams have tough games this week.

Sul Ross is awesome. 

Trinity will be ready for UMHB without a doubt.  UMHB will be flat coming off their big win today and with the knowledge that Trinity got dominated by a perennial ASC bottom feeder.  The game in San Antonio will be a very tough one and I can't think there's a clear favorite considering the circumstances.  The Crusaders probably are the superior team, but again- the circumstances.

After playing Trinity, UMHB gets Sul Ross and that is going to be the end of a murderous three game stretch for the Crusaders.  A whipping of today's proportion is not a fluke and no upset.  You can only do that to a team like Trinity if you have superior athletes/players, which Sul Ross Apparently all of a sudden has. Trinity could apparently do nothing to help themselves on defense.  I can see Sul Ross beating UMHB coming off the bye and then running the table in the ASC.

A quote from Coach Fred:

"We don't really have any chance to celebrate our win or pay attention to those polls," Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. "If we don't keep winning, the victory over Wesley doesn't mean anything. We have to stay focused and get ready to play a very good, and probably pretty angry Trinity team this weekend."

I don't forsee a let down.

Countdown continues. Family and I leaving tomorrow after school, heading to Austin to stay the night and see some friends, then off to SA on Saturday for the game.

I doubt this really would inspire the Cru very much but another reason to come into the game with something to prove is that Trinity is one of the very few teams that has a winning record against UMHB. Currently the Tigers lead the series 4-3, winning the first four with the Cru winning the last 3.

I stopped to pick-up my LC season tickets. Wesley was doing a walk-through at the LC field. Tomorrow's game with the Wolverines is the biggest non-conference game since LC resurrected its football program. LC is hungry for a signature win over an established program like Wesley. With the Wolverines loss to UMHB last week, it would seem as an independent WC really can't afford another loss. I anticipate a hard-fought contest. One thing is for certain, this game will answer a lot of questions folks have about the Wildcats.

"Should" and "do" are two very different things.  Hope to see that the Wesley offense has improved on some of the weaknesses shown last week and is ready to take care of business.

Kelly and other LC fans - any tips on the area you'd care to share with anyone visiting for the game?  Our first trip to LA, and will be driving up from New Orleans in the afternoon.
