According to the Temple Daily Telegram, the 2013 schedule is now complete for UMHB as they filled the gap of TLU with Huntington where they will open the season on the road. After that they will go to New Jersey to play Kean and then then 3 weeks into the season they will finally get to open their stadium against Wesley. Their schedule will feature an open week for the first time in quite some time.
I think I'll make a road trip to Alabama next year. Get to see the fam and so MHB football!
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I strongly encourage the team to visit the Civil Rights Museum in Montgomery. It is a moving experience.

You will drive into Montgomery from Selma.  I encourage the players to read the history of the 1965 march.

Third, I went there with Wesley in 2006 and also drove past the parsonage where MLK lived. Great trip, beautiful town.

@d3jason

You also have to credit Huntingdon for scheduling this game, as they join a conference next year (USAC.) They have had to take on a lot of the top programs in D-III as an isolated, independent over the years. It will be a challenge but certainly help their SOS.

So that would be Sept. 21, 2013? Will do my best to be there.

Hmmm. So he gets the custom skybox, his own bucket of Schoepf's BBQ, a T-1 internet line, a special fax/printer and a personal attendant to assist him during his visit.

He also gets to add the new UMHB stadium to his list of stadia.  Is that kinda like counting the new Yankee Stadium and the previous Yankee Stadium in his list of MLB stadia he has attended?

wesleydad

nice out of conference start to a season.  looks like i already know where i am going in week 2 next year, unless wesley has a good home game that weekend.  as for week 3, that would be a stretch, but you just never know.  also kudos to huntingdon, they dont shy away from the top programs, having the AQ available gives them room to play with as far as losses go.

Great game for the Cru today. Second and third Team D played well and should have had the shut out but a bad pass interference call gave HPU the ball inside the 10 on fourth down. Oh well. Nice to see the D dominate!

Anybody who just saw the ending to the LC TLU game just got way beyond your moneys worth. With 45 seconds left, TLUs kicker pulls a 45 yard field goal left. With 41.5 seconds left, took over at there own 28, no timeouts remaining. After a couple of first downs, the game came down to 4.5 seconds left in the game, LC ball on the TLU 4. Jamie Bunting rolled right and found his favorite target Kyle Galyon, who made a sliding/diving grab in the endzone as time expired, tying the game at 37. An unsportsmanlike penatly backed LC to the 18 for the extra point, which would be blocked and we would go to overtime. TLU won the toss and went to defense first. After two first downs, Lc faced 3rd and about 8 from the 9 yard line. Bunting faked the pass and ran for the corner, scoring the touchdown and putting LC up 44-37. After a sack and an incompletion, TLU had the ball 3rd down and about 20. LC would force the QB to roll out the pocket and fumble the ball, recovered by LC which won them the game 44-37, thus leaving them in serious playoff contention for a pool C bid, after Wesley came from behind to defeat Huntington, and Trinity beat Millsaps. On a different note, however, I really hope someone at ASC goes back and watches this game as the officiating was terrible- missed a lot of post play activity, numerous holding calls, and just looked confused the entire game, whether it be where the ball should be spotted, which teams called timeout, or whether or not a team reached the first down marker. Overall though, extremely proud of LC showing their heart that last drive and pulling out a tough one. Geaux Cats!

Kelly Boggs

LaCollegeFan summed up well the final minute. LC opened game and seemed a little lackluster. As a result, the Cats found themselves in a pretty deep hole in the first half. However, the never-say-die Cats clawed their way back and did what they had to do to pull out the win.

This after having hit from 50+ earlier AND hitting a 59 yd wind aided field goal against us. Dude is legit! Great ending, though. I hated to see the fans run on the field and push back that EP attempt. But, I understand the excitement. Great game to watch. Thankfully, they don't charge to watch like Linfield does.

If i'm not mistaken, i think all the home games are free to watch for LC. Could be wrong though. Thinking back i believe between the two schools there was at least 8 turnovers. Sloppy game but extremely fun to be there to watch in person. Really hoping the last second score will be the POTW. I believe LC is suppose to be putting a video together for it.
