However many seat there are in the stadium, it is going to be a real showplace.  I can't remember how many times 10,000 seats were needed.

According to the media guide, 10,000 has never been needed since our biggest crowd was back in 2008 at 7,822 when Hardin-Simmons came into town for their first of two great games that year. That was a great game and I hope we can get near that number or greater for the first game at the new stadium, although it will be very difficult since Wesley fans have just a little farther to travel.

That would be great to see the stadium full for HSU.  It is a great rivalry.

I think The CRUthedral will be packed for the Wesley game on Sept. 21. My tickets have been secured.

What section are you in? We are 204. I believe we are the two yellow stripes of the H!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Cru fans, what do you think the incremental increase in fans will be with the onsite facility,...gone from playing at a HS in front of 3000 folks to happening place for the kids...I hope to make it there next year...

Even though the drive was less than a mile away many students didnt have the desire to get in their cars and go to Tiger Stadium. With a Stadium now on campus those same students may now decided to go along with their friends and attend the game.

I believe the first few nights games will have a significant increase in attendence. Although i do imagine once the 1:00pm games begin the crowd may die back down but not to the point to the late season games at Tiger Field.

Can a coach vote for his own team?

If Sul Ross State can fix their defensive issues, then I would think that vote would count for something. Also, note that they did lose to two Division II schools last year. They could have possibly been 7-3 last year instead of 5-5.

I think they may need to fix more than just their defense, since I believe they lost their top 3 rushers, their QB and two of their best wider receivers to graduation. You could probably say that type of stuff about other programs, including UMHB, but SRS doesn't exactly have the reputation of reloading so quickly.

Ron Boerger

They also lost their head coach who was "non-renewed", plus their AD stepped down last spring.   Awful lot has happened since last year's unusual success.

The lights and excitement alone would draw people over to watch the game. Plus, I really think they will begin drawing people with pregame festivities. Shoot, I'd like to get a portable grill and head on over to tailgait.

But once the full building is comeplete, the student union building apparently won't be done until January, then that will really bennefit the team. I think the excitement of the field on campus will be a plus this year, the new building being open at the start of school next year will be a bennefit as well.

I was under the impression coaches can't vote for their own team but could be wrong.

According to Twitter, former UMHB player Nate Menkin was just traded to the Texans. Hopefully he can remain healthy this year and get some playing time this year.
