So pped for tomorrow. Drove by the field and it is looking very nice. They have worked their tails off to make it complete. Pretty amazing what they've done recently working night and day and in rain.

They place will be ELECTRIC! Hope they don't run out of CruDogs!

Planned on the all out tailgate tomorrow, but my prep plans were sidelined by a bout of food poisoning today. So we're meeting family at Schoepf's at 11:30 and then figuring out the rest of the afternoon until ice cream at the alumni center @ 4:30. Would love to meet some of you that'll be there.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

My bad on the link. I did not realize he did not share everything with the world.  :-\

I hope to there, Toby. We're hopefully getting on the road by 8 a.m., which should put us in Belton around 2:30/3. I hope you feel better & better as the day progresses.

Cru friends.  enjoy the game tonight and the new stadium.  i am hoping that the game can live up to the hype.  wesley did not look very good last week and the o line will have to improve for them to challenge UMHB.  i expect the video feed to be good since UMHB always does a good job.  I will be watching at 700.

Congrads to the Crusaders on the triple monkey stomping tonight.  You guys were the monsters of the grid iron.  Wesley will have to pick up the pieces and hit the road next week.  You guys are the team to beat, that is for sure.    Well done.

You could not have scripted a better day/night for the opening of Crusader Stadium, aka. Thee CRUthedral. The tailgating, ice cream at the alumni center, the National Anthem with the huge flag and the fly over, were just great. The stadium wave in the 4th quarter was classic and the fireworks after the game were impressive. It's hard to describe the Cru-Dog, but it is mighty tasty.

The win by The CRU was satisfying;  defense was impressive, the offense adequate and UMHB put the game away early.

The stadium is better than advertised; it is simply first class everywhere you look.

Seeing old friends was great. Good to see you Toby and glad you bounced back from your food poisoning. Having 19 family and friends share the experience was wonderful, and I got to meet Mr. D3 himself, Mr. Pat Coleman.

All in all, just a memorable day/night.

I'm proud to be an alumnus of UMHB.

CRUWORLD

Awesome opening for Crusader Stadium and all of Cru Nation tonight. Not just a win, but a convincing win showing that there is a deep hunger for success in all areas of the game. Go Cru!

Just got home from the game.  Got there late because my daughter-in-law lost her grandfather and my son and I were at a graveside service for him at 10:30am in Alvin, Texas.  Saw a truly dominating performance.  At he end of the third quarter, before liberal substitutions began, UMHB had 404 total yards offense to 25 total yards for Wesley.  As has been said, the Wesley offensive line had no answer for the Cru and for perhaps the first time, none of the Wesley receivers appeared to have the speed to beat UMHB's secondary on deep routes.

The stadium more than exceeded its expectations and was standing room only for an announced paid crowd of 9,384 fans.  After the game was over, my son and I got to tour the home dressing rooms (2) and the coaches dressing rooms. All are carpeted with great lockers and decorations as well as large screen TV's.

The fireworks show lasted 15 minutes or more and was truly first class.

All in all a truly remarkable beginning for the new Cru home stadium. :o

What a great experience yesterday in Belton.  Great tailgating, awesome stadium and a great performance by the Cru.  The defense is championship quality.  I never expected the game to be so one sided.

Pat, It was nice meeting you.  Hope you had a wonderful stay.

Crusaders2012

Truly a great game! Does anyone know the name of the song that the Cru danced too at mid-field? It had the Harlem Shake like beat.
