From what I'm told a UMHB Alumni who is a DJ mixed the music specifically for the games.

The dance is officially known as The Cru dance.

Not sure if UMHB is the top team in the country or not but they sure are a top 3 team. The Cru looks a  lot like Wesley did few years ago on O with a lot of speed. Impressed with the stadium. Good luck to the Cru. Hopefully Wesley will get better along that young O line and get back to the playoffs and we will play later in the season.

Nice game for the CRU.  The defense is top notch with an attitude to go with it.  Wesley being banged up hurt a little, but I am not sure if it would have been much closer if they were all healthy.  Your offense is good, but the QB will have to eliminate the few mistakes he made if/when you play the other top teams in the country.  The ASC is always tough to run and I am sure someone will put a scare into the CRU, Kean held them to 3 in the first half last week.  That was before the QB change due to injury occured.  UMHB is clearly the best team I have seen so far this year, in person or on the computer.  They are clearly 1 of the favorites to make it to Salem at this early point in the season.  Here is hoping that Wesley can shore up its O line issues and challenge the CRU later in the playoffs.  Good luck the rest of the year.  Will be keeping an eye on how your QB progresses.

Sorry, just wanted to add a little levity on a Monday morning with help of Dennis Green.

Those of you in the area that can go to the UMHB coach's show with Coach Fred need to go support it. If this was UT or A&M, the people would be out in droves. Come support our school and our coach, not to mention our SID John Wallin. Tuesday night, 6:30-7 at Schoepfs.

It's fun to sit there and listen to the discussion, ask a question or two, and eat some good food. This is our team and our oath, come support!!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Really wish I could but grad school classes make it so I can't even listen to it. Jon told me that they were working on a pod cast version but it wasn't ready yet.

I expect the Purple Crush D to get it it done this evening. I also think  Anderson will mature a little more and The CRU offense will be more efficient this week and UMHB will roll to win number two in The CRUthedral!

I wish I could be present to help pack the palace.

Up with the Purple!

To say UMHB was sluggish in the first half against Sul Ross would be an understatement. I hope they come out in the second half and play CRU ball and put the Lobos away.

Meh, they'll take out their frustration on Trinity next week.   :(

An ugly win is still a win. The CRU needs to play much sharper next week against Trinity.

Truly a great game! Does anyone know the name of the song that the Cru danced too at mid-field? It had the Harlem Shake like beat.

The telegram article this morning said Hudson was injured but could have played if necessary. Anyone know the nature of the injury?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I'm not sure on the injur to Hudson, but we can definitely see his importance to the Cru. And what was going on at QB? Anderson looked more frazzled than ever, and preseason starting favorite Gallagher couldn't complete a pass either. All in all a strange night for the Cru. And the scarriest thing for me was the O and DLine. I've never seen our Oline give up so many pressures on our QB, and both are agile, and the Dline giving up that many yards on the run.

In all, I think this is a pivitol game for the Cru. Now their eyes are opened that you can't take anyone lightly. Perhaps they found themselves a few notches higher than they should have been. Perhaps they felt they were too good, and SRS has a healthy team. They will give some teams some difficulty this year.

I've never seen a SRS team so cocky. They came out and were taunting from the first hike of the ball. They received a TON of unsportsmanlike penalties, and unfortunately we fell into that as well. I don't know what the coaches have in store for practice this week, but I can bet they'll penalize our team quite a bit for their part in the cockiness.

QB....man, we need someone to step up. Athletically, Anderson is the guy, I mean, look at the 81 yard run, but he has to start hitting the open receiver and running when he can.

All in all, this is a must game for the Cru, and I'm glad it came early. Hopefully, this will propell us the rest of the way.

i think part of Saturday was a let down from the emotion of last week, some was people believing their press, some was pro am weather related some was a need for maturity. The thing that gets me about the game was the personal fouls on 3rd and 4th downs that extended drives so they could score. Even as bad as they played this could have been a 70 pt game. Carpenter showed he is a good second option at RB. Anderson played like a cocky sophomore. Made some stupid mistakes and did some stuff well. I think he'll be fine and by the end of season will be in good shape for he playoffs ( assuming he doesn't p/o the coaches and get benched for doing something stupid). The first 4 weeks have all had games that started slow with ball handling issues early. That needs to stop, but I have a feeling TU will catch the burn from this weeks practices on Saturday night.
