Don't take the weather jokes/pot shots seriously...

It's like the ONLY thing we have on you guys from UMHB, just let us have our fun seeing as the game may end in a Monkey Stomp...
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

I decided to wait on buying a ticket til I get to Belton this time. They are predicting a 1/2 inch of ice starting at noon tomorrow. Ima be really ticked off if I miss another game because of Erving conditions.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

We're not taking them seriously, we just don't tend to let anyone have anything when it comes to football.  ;D. It would not be Texan of us to let it go.

How do they work issues with weather in the playoffs? If by SJF can't make it in by Saturday, would they play the game on Sunday? It's not like they can forget about the game, a team has to move forward for the next round.

According the the Championship manual:
"In the event a contest cannot be played due to weather or other uncontrollable conditions, every effort will be made by both schools to reschedule the game within 48 hours of the original start time. If both schools make a good faith effort to do so and the uncontrollable condition continues to prevent play, the visiting team will be awarded the victory and advance to the next round."

Actually BP you aren't too far off.  If memory serves I believe in such rare situations the NCAA will automatically advance the "feel good" team under the "best interests of the game" provision.  Fisher playing the lovable underdog is clearly that team.

The march to Salem continues for the Cardinals.

It's a shame the crowd will be less than I was anticipating. While I was not expecting a capacity crowd, I thought 5000 would have been reasonable. It sounds like the road conditions, as well as the cold, will significantly affect the crowd size.

The likely hazardous road conditions will keep us from making the trip this week. As a result, I will be rooting from the comfy confines of my media room in Central Louisiana.

Hopefully the lack of students last week due to Thanksgiving will mean a rambunctious student section this week.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

The students can make a memory by going berserk for The CRU in the frigid conditions. I hope they turn out in record numbers and scream themselves hoarse.  :)

I don't speak of the weather in terms of UMHB and The CRU's performance, I speak of in terms of I can't be present.

With the moisture predicted to fall on Friday and the temperature only expected to be around 33 for a high on Saturday, the bridges in Central Texas, and beyond, will likely be icy. Texas only sees this type of weather rarely, thus does not have the means to deal with it. As someone already referenced, everyone just hunkers down for the day or two it is present. Things thaw about out as rapidly as they freeze up, so it is just a minor inconvenience.  When the front comes through temperatures will plunge something like 60+ degrees in a few hours. That is climate change!

There is no doubt the road conditions will keep CRU supporters like myself -- my trip is 5 1/2 hours one way -- at home.

The CRU will relentlessly tote the tater and chunk the pumpkin as needed. Looking for UMHB to CRUise on to the semifinals!

Oh brother....
anyway...

We will worry about the Crusaders not the weather.

The team is the focus not the conditions.....

fisheralum91

Kelly,
I get it.
No need to take pot shots....
As many other Fisher fans have very humbly stated,
the weather talk is a spoof.
I have the utmost respect for your team.
I understand the travel constraints and weather related driving issues.
Just hoping for a great game....
and btw...my comprehension is outfreakingstanding.....
my filter however is not....
;D

The spoof might be working, just read the notes on St. Johns Fisher site and even they say that weather might be a factor haha.

Seriously I don't think the cold will be a factor for anyone wearing a jersey on Saturday, however if its raining it doesn't matter if it 99 or 9 degree, that could cause for their to be problems hanging onto the ball.
