If your team performs at the same level of your reading comprehension then the game Saturday is over at halftime. No one is saying the weather will affect The CRU. The talk of the weather is about OUR travel and OUR fan attendance. The weather will not cause you New Yorkers to blink an eye. We Texans, on the other hand, are not accustomed to it nor are we prepared for it.

Laugh if you will, but we in the south and southwest  -- I currently live in Louisiana -- are no more prepared for icy weather than folks up north are prepared for extended periods (June, July, August and September) of 95 to 100+ temps with 80%+ humidity. The lows during the summer are normally in the upper 70s and, at times, the lower 80s.

FYI and FWIW: It was 80+ here yesterday with about 80% humidity.

We get it, you think SJF will be adversely affected by the weather.  ;D

Seriously, that was a pretty good line (not commenting on whether warranted, it was just a nice spicy line). Something I may have posted in a playoff week. Too bad SJF fans are so darn humble about their chances this week. This board could have been a lot of fun!  ;)

Depending on the results, maybe next week there will be more mixing it up (all in good fun of course!).  ;)

Psh, 80+???

That's nothing, we're dying up here in 60 degrees up here...

Have to turn on the air conditioner...

In all seriousness, I'm bummed with this heat wave. It's melting all the snowmen my kids made this past weekend!!!

I was thinking the same thing upstate....
Kids had so much fun in the snow---we need it back!!!
Covers up all the mud!!!

Kelly,
I thought that I extended the olive branch here....
Much respect to the cru.....

Hoping for a good game!

Good night nurse, the weather has gotten more attention than the game, thus far.  ::)

Good news for The CRU, at least one of the Wimby twins is expected to be back for Saturday's game. I don't think either played against Rowan. Just a little more speed on the offensive side of the ball for UMHB. The Wildcat formation will be just a little wilder this Saturday with Marcus at the helm.

Is that a southern thing?

I think these quotes are apropos for the upcoming game, at least in reference to UMHB.  ;D

"Sure, the home-field is an advantage -- but so is having a lot of talent." - Dan Marino

"When it comes to football, God is prejudiced - toward big, fast kids." - Chuck Mills

"Speed, strength, and the inability to register pain immediately." - Reggie Williams, when asked his greatest strengths as a football
  player.

"He runs faster than small town gossip." -- Darrell Royal

"I knew he was fast but I never knew how fast until I saw him playing tennis by himself." -- Lou Holtz

"He's quick as a hiccup." --Jim Wicker

living in the north or the south does not give anyone practice at dealing with ice on the roads.  driving is near impossible no matter where it is.  Any ice storm that occurs in the north brings the roads to a standstill, you can not put enough salt down fast enough.  If the weather for the game does turn out to be rain, sleet, freeezing rain, etc, then it will certainly change the game.  Anyone that was at the Wesley/Hopkins game a few years ago will tell you how much it ruined what looked to be a good game.  The turf became covered in a sheet of wet slush and the players had little footing to do anything but go straight ahead.  Passing was virtually eliminated.  The kicking game was useless and they hoped to even get a punt off.  Good luck to both teams in the game and hopefully the weather does not play any part in the outcome, but if the forecast is correct, there is little chance of that.  Also, safe travels to anyone attempting to make the trip, even if you are only driving a couple of miles to get there.

I changed my plans for my trip to Alliance because of the forecast, doing a 6 hour both ways in the same day trip to avoid the predicted, rain-ice on sunday.  Love D3 football, but want to be alive to a game next week.

No harm no foul, fisheralum91. Forgive me if I have come across a tad bit churlish. The reality that I will not be present at the game on Saturday has started to sink in and I am a smidgen disappointed.

I think that the SJF fans have been the most enoyable that we have encountered on the message boards! +1!
