From the E8 board!

Alright -- I've tried to keep quiet as long as possible but I'm bleeding Cardinal Red in anticipation of this game and am not keeping quiet any longer!!!!!!!

Here's a position that will seem preposterous to most, but here goes:

Unprovable Position #1: If SJF, IC, Bethel, Wabash et al. were in the ASC, they'd run the tables year in and year out just like MHB does.  That conference is somewhere below LL and slightly above MASAC.

Provable Position #1: Where MHB's playoff runs have ended the last 8 seasons have been no different than: SJF, AU, STU, Bethel, Cortalnd, North Central and the rest of the country has met their end: 2nd Round, Qtrs, and Semis vs. MUC, UWW, Linfield and Wesley.

Absurd Read Through #1: MHB is a top program, but NOT elite. Elite programs punch through (UWW in '07 for example said make room for one more) -- they haven't, just like rest of country.

Provable Position #2: SOS favors the Cards

Position that will be proven or denied by 4'ish PM EST: SJF D shows that the MHB O can be slowed. And that be it freezing rain, snow, hot, or cold that the SJF balanced O can execute. . . . .  SJF Wins.  24-21.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

And I gotta say that predicting your team to win by 3 isn't all that brash.  ;)

I don't know. When everyone else seems to be predicting a loss of anywhere from two to four touchdowns, predicting any win sounds a little brash to me.   :)

But when it's your team, I think it is to be expected. Or maybe I should rephrase my thought. Maybe it is brash, but in this sense I think brash is  a good thing. Until the teams play, no one can be SURE what will happen. This is the quarterfinals and SJF has earned the right to be here. I understand why people are picking the CRU. I picked them. But I also like to see the SJF fans believing in their guys.

Hays in the barn!!! Cru 42-6. Cards score 1 touchdown and Cru blocks the PAT!! Cru runs the ball down their throat all day. Cards QB runs for his life all day.

I actually don't mind it at all when teams run the ball.  Our run defense isn't half bad.  It's the thought of wide receivers flying down the sideline that we don't have the speed to stay with that gives me pause.  So if it is a heavy heavy dose of running then I think we'd be more in our comfort zone.  That's just my own personal thought on the matter  :)

Also, am I up because I can't sleep?  Si.  Is it because of the game?  It most certainly is!

So, it's 15* here and the roads are as smooth as glass with ice. I guess I'm watching the video feed. No time to make the trip. Our living room will be purple and gold; game day food will be cooked; and I predict the Cru win this on a cold dry field 42-17.

I sure hope you guys are right about the CRU running well today!  My trip has been postponed, so I hope to be at the game!
Anxious to see the CRU against another streaking team and one they haven't played before.  Makes all this that much more interesting!

I'm not sure what the weather is like in Belton but up here in Dallas it's a sheet of ice. I think cold weather and ice/snow can be an equalizer and cause a game to be much closer than it should be.

31F at noon. feels like 21f according to Weather.com. Roads seem to be good. No precip forecasted, just cold and 13mph wind.
