good 47-7 win for the JV.
I don't know if this would be the right place to say this but whoever handled the video coverage last night, should do every game. Camera coverage was great, although there was no sound and that's ok but camera angles, switching and coverage was outstanding, the images were very clear, smooth panning and framed to capture all of the action and not so zoomed out that it was a bunch of stick figures on the field. The sideline cam was awesome, in one shot the sideline cam caught the ball being passed right at it, and the cru defender jumping up and intercepting it, but the kicker was, they replayed it, IN SLOW MOTION.. just awesome! and the view was like we were not more then 5 feet away, just beautiful.
So the point is, there was no graphics of 3rd down make some noise, which keeps the viewer from seeing the game, and from out of state I'd rather see the sub in and out, and formation set than a graphic that tells me to do something I am not going to do and then come back to the game just at the snap.
So less graphics, I don't care (on broadcast) about other game scores, I have my PC to do that at home, I would rather see more game action and happenings, sure the flex cam was cool no problem, and people waving at the cam is ok too, just dump the graphics and do what you did last night and Viola! excellent. Don't cut to a video at the national anthem, let people who are viewing see the team come into the stadium.
I'm sorry if this is a rant but it was really good vid coverage and I'm kinda a nerd in that area, plus we have family in other states watching the games and it is a great informational tool about the school we dearly love. So I'll put away the soap box and return to my wings and frosty drink for this Saturday. Hear me UMHB, give the crew from last night a raise, make them Knights or promise them free Oreo cookies for life if they handle the coverage like they did last evening... they get a double :D :D

I agree with you Morrgen that the coverage for the game last night was awesome but I am afraid you are not going to like any of the varsity games if you watch them online. The feed we watch online is the exact image that is being shown on the jumbo-tron, so on home varsity game days it is going to feature out of town scores and things like flex cam, ads, etc. Now does that have to happen I doubt it, but I would image the athletics staff would say they are stretched as it is to do the things they do and don't have more staff to have a broadcast feed and a big screen feed.

As I attend all of the home games, I'm interested in knowing if the video feed provided at home games is better than those of away games. Same goes for the sound. Can you tell a difference or is it the same?

The UMHB Coaches show airs tonight from the Bawcom Student Union Building. It's fun to show up and listen, but you can also tweet in questions and listen on-line. Tweet @Crusports to post a question.

Thankfully I don't have to watch many home games online but every time I have the stream has been much better for video and sound. I have no way to verify this but to me it seems like when we hit the road we must use something like a internet hot spot which is not nearly as good as home games which I would assume we have a hard wired internet connection.  It would be nice if away schools were given access to the home teams internet source, which I assume would fix a lot of problems.

I don't mind the flex cam and ads, in fact it's a good time for Bio breaks, wing re-acquisition runs (I mean salad, salad runs if my wife is reading this) and frosty beverage refills, but man, if they could at least quit with the graphic every down and let us see the game I'd be good with that. In the LaCrosse game we sat through Pop tart commercials so no biggie. Sigh....oh well I won't be able to make home games until the October home stands so I guess it will have to be what it will be.  :'(

Tucked inside this weeks game notes for the UMHB-Kean game was something I could not believe. The 2015 UMHB football schedule is not only already confirmed, but it already posted to the website and features 7,yes 7, games at the Cruthedral!

No McMurry on the schedule, but we get Belhaven for the first time and start the year in Delaware.....,Ohio against Ohio Wesleyan.

I like the look of that loooong home stand to start the year (after Ohio Weslyan), and did you notice TLU is still on the schedule.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I was happy to see The Cru we know during the first half. They did have a rough start and those two fumbles in the red zone hurt, but they put that past them and did what they needed to do. Although the second half was played mostly by the second and third string, I would of liked to see the play calling as if it was still a close game and give those guys a chance to work on some plays within a real game. Just running the ball up the middle each play doesn't do a lot for the players. All in all The Cru played a solid game! Now comes the conference games where the wins and loses really count.

First two possessions, fumbles, scored on the next six, I believe. Great day for the Cru.

Good to see Anderson have a day with no Int's. He passed a lot better today. His feet look set and he squared his shoulders well. Hopefully this gives him som confidence heading into the bye.

Running game looked to get under control. I know this isn't a great team we played, but it was good to see us do what we should have done. This wasn't so through the first 3 games.

We still need to shore up the kickoff  team's assignments. And, I'd like to see us get more pressure on the QB.

The CRU needs to get it together and play a complete game on both sides of the ball this Saturday against Kean. It's time for UMHB to play to its potential.

UP with the PURPLE!

Kean lost to Albright and Endicott and pretty bad. I suspect it won't be much of a challenge for the Cru, should win by 60+

I will not accept my accolades.  :P
