It was stated in the paper today that Kinsey will be reevaluated today, but that it looks like he will miss the rest of the regular season if not the playoffs. Another tough loss on the defensive side of the ball.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Hey, Morregen. you truly are D3 afficiando and a CRU fan.  I hope we have the opportunity to meet one day.

The following quotes are from the Seguin Gazette's report of UMHB vs TLU:

"Several things were made clear Saturday at Bulldog Stadium in Seguin.
Among those? The sky is still blue, grass is still green and Mary Hardin-Baylor is still frighteningly good at football."

"The Cru (7-0) shattered the Bulldogs' dreams of a signature win by powering their way to a 72-16 rout behind 56 unanswered points in the contest."

"TLU (6-1) led 6-3 in the first quarter following a pair of Tyler Brandenburg field goals, but after that, UMHB began to resemble the juggernaut that has now won 51 consecutive regular season contests."

"Mary Hardin-Baylor's defense was as good as advertised on Saturday, picking off three passes in the contest while keeping TLU running back Marquis Barrolle under wraps for much of the game.
Barrolle broke loose for a 33-yard run on the first play from scrimmage but was held to 91 yards on 24 carries on the afternoon."

After Barrolle's first run, The CRU held him to 2.5 yards per carry on his other 23 carries.

It was a CRUstomp!

UP with the PURPLE!

I try to watch every game I possibly can so I get used to who they are, there are so many schools out there but I'm developing a list I like, Louisiana, Ithaca, I like Southwestern because it's a newer program and I have a heart for underdogs. U of Redlands cause I have ties there, starting to warm up on Chapman and of course I try to catch Whitewater, Wesley and Linfield any time I can.

Thanks for the update on Kinsey. I hate that for him since he is a senior and such a superb player.

Morrgen,

I lived in McMinnville, home of Linfield, for eight years. We had season tickets and enjoyed following the Wildcats. We were there in 2004 when Linfield played UMHB for the national championship.

We now live in Pineville and have followed LC closely for the past eight seasons. My sons both played high school football, so our Friday night commitments kept us from making too many of The CRU's regular season games. My youngest son graduated this year and now we can leave for Belton (or Seguin ;D) on Friday. As a result, this year we have made all but two of UMHB's games. We have also made almost every home playoff game in the past eight years.

I really love DIII football and, of course, The CRU!

No update on Kinsey of the Crusaders and I am guessing few outside the medical community would guess as to why. According to Coach Pete the reason Kinsey and the team can't get an update is.....Obamacare. Apparently the red tape is proving difficult to manage so much so that another senior, Sterling Cantue, has been waiting for 3 weeks to get one and still hasn't.

Either way Kinsey and I imagine Cantue won't be playing this weekend against HSU.

Watched the UMHB game this weekend and I can say that not what I thought would happen. I thought talent wise TLU was solid and with the knowledge of how UMHB works (the former players and coaches on that staff) that it would have been a little bit closer game. But that's why the games are played. After seeing UMHBs A game any thought on the HSU match up? Has anyone seen HSU? They are 5-1 and 2-0 in conference.
Go CRU!

This is our BIG rivalry game. Anything can happen. HSU may be a bit shell shocked playing in the Cruthedral. But, I suspect we'll be in the same boat we were with TLU.

Maybe not as much as most first visits. HSU played in Belton last year so some of these boys will have had the experience. I wonder more how they'll travel. Im flying the UMHB flag in the front yard this week and the car flag will go on Thursday when I'm working, and will be on until thevreturnnfrom Belton!
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

The UMHB-HSU game was in Abilene last season.  This will be the first visit to the new stadium for HSU.

I got to listen to the UMHB Coaches Show and it sounds like the prognosis on Deshon Kinsey is better than expected. He apparently got through the red tape and Coach Pete said it was believed he had a grade 2 MCL. Now he didn't say if it was a grade 2 sprain or tear, but in any case he acted like that was much better than what they feared.  Also he said that Cantue practiced today and feels good, but didn't say if he would play this weekend.
