The CRU needs to come out strong and pick up where they left off on October 25th. UMHB does not need to let TLU believe they stand a chance. I do not expect The CRU to lose this game, but stranger things have happened in college football.

In 2001, Texas dominated Colorado in the regular season and won by a score of 41-7. In the Big 12 Championship game Colorado shocked the Longhorns and won 39-37.

UMHB needs to come out and leave no doubt from the opening kickoff to the final play.

Go CRU!

UP with the PURPLE!

Kelly,

I recall that upset too.  I hope history plays itself out again.  Go Bulldogs!

In D3, the top 5 are like the top 10-15 in D1. I seriously doubt an upset will take place. I believe the Bulldogs will do better, but I believe UMHB is better than they were in Seguin. Three touchdowns even in the rain is what I expect.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I don't anticipate an upset either. I hope UMHB comes out of the tunnel with its playoff face on, takes care of business and leaves no doubt as to who is the King of D3 Football in Texass - The CRU!

I think it's the other way around -- there are twice as many D-III teams as D-I FBS, so the top five is more like the top two or three of the D-I Top 25.

UMHB has beat the same team twice in the same season multiple times.

2006
Regular season: UMHB 28 HSU 16
Playoffs: UMHB 33 HSU 21

2008
Regular season: UMHB 20 HSU 18
Playoffs: UMHB 38 HSU 35

2011
Regular season: UMHB 28 McMurry 27
Playoffs: UMHB 49 McMurry 20

2012
Regular season: UMHB 32 Wesley 25
Playoffs: UMHB 32 Wesley 20
Regular season: UMHB 30 LC 3
Playoffs: UMHB 59 LC 20

2013
Regular season: UMHB 31 Redlands 13
Playoffs: UMHB 35 Redlands 7

The only time UMHB did not fare well playing a team twice in the same season was in 2007. UWW beat The CRU in Wisconsin during the regular season 41-14. In the semi-finals UMHB again traveled to UWW and lost (in the cold) to the Warhawks 16-7.

The CRU has a pretty good track record when playing a team for a second time in the playoffs. Not only that, but in every second meeting UMHB showed an improvement over the first game. Just some food for thought.  8-)

I guess I was thinking there are more teams that are pretty good, more top teams, DIII has about 5 REALLY good teams while DI has more.

I'm not sure that D3 has any less parity overall than any other division, but it does seem we have more 'royalty' than any other division (not quantitatively more, but more enduring - no one else has anyone even close to The Mount (or even 'johnny-come-lately' UWW), I suspect Linfield has the longest streak of winning seasons of any division, and UMHB and Wesley are certainly getting up there).

UMHB's streak of winning seasons is only 15 and Wesley's is only 12 so I guess it depends on what you mean but "getting up there."

The accolades continue for Teidrick Smith - this time for making the d3football.com Team of the Week!

QuoteDE Teidrick Smith, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Smith posted 2.5 sacks and returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown as UMHB held ETBU to just 19 points and 140 yards below their season average in total offense.

I was referring in their cases not just to winning seasons, but consecutive truly dominating seasons - sorry I wasn't more clear.
