Was just browsing through the ASC games this past weekend and am wondering if anyone knows anything about the ETBU-McMurry game. I was surprised by the lack of offense from ETBU and then realized that their Gagliardi Trophy semi-finalist QB didn't play. On the ETBU athletic website it list him as a key returner on the preview for the McMurry game so I have to think it was a last minute thing. After averaging over 550 yards of offense last season and only throwing 11 interceptions all season, against McMurry they only managed 226 and threw 5 interceptions.

Just watched the first few minutes of the ETBU-McM game and their radio crew said that Warbington did not play due to discipline issue. They did not elaborate on what it was or if it was just for this game or more.

When will these guys learn? I don't understand putting your team in that position. Seems like they would make better choices since others have been held out for issues, i.e. Silvio Diaz two years ago.

Well in Warbington defense, we have no idea what he did, it could have been something as simple as being late for a meeting, I doubt that but you never know.

However to answer your question, they (us just a few months/years/decades ago) will never learn because they are college students and college students have a tendency to do things they may regret later. I give major credit to coaches that stand up for rules and even though they know it will hurt their teams chance of success they do it anyway because its the right thing to do.

Just read that Maggie Moos is now helping create the purple vanilla ice cream for game days at UMHB. I hate that Blue Bell is out, but I knew that would probably be the case. They did say the contract with Maggie Moos is for this season, so I guess Blue Bell could be back next year.

People may scoff at this, but one of my favorite pre-game traditions is eating that purple ice cream.  Maggie Moos isn't bad, so I'm willing to withhold judgement.  But, yes, it will be hard to top Blue Bell.  When they were forced to close up shop (only temporarily, thank goodness) I was pretty upset.  They make good stuff.

Priorities, man.   ;D

That's awesome news, where did you see that?

Yes, you read that correct – PURPLE VANILLA ICE CREAM.
·         Again this year, we were able to secure PURPLE ice cream.

·         Maggie Moo's has worked with us to create a great tasting PURPLE vanilla.

·         When you buy it, part of the proceeds go to support missions.

·         Only available on game day!

I read this on an email I received from the University as I am a grad student and receive their emails.

Yeah, I'm a grad student too and got the same e-mail.  I assume they sent it out to anyone flagged as a student.

crufootball - it was sent out by Dr. Weathersbee, just in case you were wondering.

Guess its as good of time as any to start posting previews of this week's games.

#1 Wisconsin-Whitewater at Belhaven (0-1)

Belhaven will put up yards, and might get some points, but stopping Whitewater is going to be few and far between.

Hal Mumme or no, yards and points will be hard to come by against this outfit.  They don't give it up very easy...defense does in fact win championships and these cats have 6 of the last 8.

I must say it was fun to see that much offense by the Roos.  I hope that they continue to improve!!
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Two deep is out for the UMHB-Millsaps game and while there are no real major changes there are a good number of small changes. Marcus Wimby and Jaedon Johson are listed as starters and TJ Josey looks to get his first start as a wide receiver. Another small change is Michael Carpenter is listed as the starting RB, I am excited to see Michael get the first nod as running back. I love the power that Malcolm Miller can provide but our offense seems to thrive better when a fast runner can get the bulk and then a bigger guy can come in for the tough yards.

umhb2001

TJ Josey is electric. If he can get the ball in the open field, he will make someone miss, and he is quick. That could be something of a sleeper strength for the Cru.

It's interesting to me that DT from the DC is not doing more. He needs to get more touches I think.

It concerns me that we started slow when it seems that the two major players, UWW and MU, seemed to be playing really well even while missing major players from last season. Hopefully this week of practice and the thrill of playing at home will get the boys fired up.

I guess Hunter Shmidt is injured this week or what? He started last week but isn't on the two deep..

Perhaps they are working the rotation a bit, last game Malcom had the significant amount of carries, perhaps they are working different ideas for opposing team strengths, Malcom beat down the D line of OWU, but personally I would hate to be on the opposite side of Mr. Carpenter when he gets to full tilt speed. So Milsaps will have to handle Mr. Carpenter, I wonder, last year, who  had the significant carries vs. Milsaps seeing that all three are still here in the game, could be interesting to note. Either way, I love to watch all three of them work.
I will unfortunately have to miss this home game, work related  :'( So for those there, have a Purple Vanilla Ice Cream for me.. a double scoop...
