Does tiebreaker matter as there is no auto bid?  Isn't it the regional rankings that are going to be thrown into flux?

Tiebreaker matters a lot, because whoever is given the #1 will get the AQ.

Mea culpa.  I thought the ASC didn't have an AQ this year?

You're right... http://www.d3football.com/interactive/faq/playoffs#2

I think that we are back to the whims of Pool B!

TLU is back in the mix, to some degree.

Goodness gracious.  Chaos reigns in D3 this year.  Whitewater, UMHB, and now Wesley and HSU lose a regular season game.  Welp.

Slow start for the Cru today, but they took care of business in the end.  I was hoping to see more passion from the guys, but aside from a few really physical plays on D it didn't really manifest itself.  At least, not to my eyes.  That being said, they still played well.  Hope for more of a spark next week.

**Edited to reflect HSU's loss.  I knew of it before posting, but I'm still in shock over some of the results from the greater D3 landscape today...

I dunno Gill with the exception of seriously dropped or overthrown passes it was pretty solid and confident. Plus, we saw alot of new numbers called on plays, that just makes 2016 look really good. I beleive the guys will be up for next weekend vs. ETBU.

Basically, since the team who gets in is at the whim of the committee and not an AQ, ETBU is basically a nonfactor and this game really meant nothing. It's less exciting than I thought :p . Should ETBU beat MHB next week it just makes it easier for them to select HSU. But either way it seems like HSU will still have the edge based on Head to head with MHB.

Tekken

So do you think UMHB is basically playing a playoff game against ETBU now?  If they lose they would probably be 1 -2 vs RRO? (TLU, HSU, ETBU)

I think since there is no AQ on the line we're looking at a potential 3 way tie for the ASC Championship. like little league, everyone gets a ring. I'm not sure how the playoff thing will pan out, but what I am sure of is HSU cannot crap the bed against LC and UMHB needs to bury ETBU.

Im curious about how voters will see the Wesley loss. Similar situation to UMHB, 3pt loss in a rivalry game butbWesley lost at HOME.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I don't know.  If this happens, assuming these four teams are all regionally ranked, you get this vs RRO.

ETBU (2-1)
HSU (2-1)
TLU (1-2)
UMHB (1-2)

ETBU or HSU seems the choice, with ETBU having the H2H win.

Good Point. In this situation, maybe ETBU would get a "Pool B" and HSU a Pool C. I think this is making my head hurt. I don't know how some of the people on here really dive in.  :o

I do worry about the 2 losses ETBU already has, though,

McMurry win over ETBU is a non-factor

It is a factor.  When the selection committee is making their decision, all games are taken into account. I don't care what the rules say.  You can't conveniently "forget" that ETBU lost to a provisional D3 team.  It may not be spoken but the loss factors into what is spoken.

My main issue is when guys don't finish plays.  I saw a few cases of that today.  Overall though, the team played well.  I just hope to see more fire in them next week.

Oh i'm not denying it was a laid back game, Tedric did'nt beast like I thought he would, I think once we were at 26 on the board it was "lets try some new things time" so yeah it was a little off tempo
