McMurry win over ETBU is a non-factor

Nothing is a non-factor when we're talking about Pool B and Pool C selection. We only get 10 games, so we're not throwing any of them out.
Yes, my bad.

Could be in my mind when someone says they travel to take the outright championship, it is a forgone conclusion  here is what I mean "With the win, ETBU is the only undefeated team in the ASC. They will travel to Belton, Texas, on Saturday, November 14, to face Mary Hardin-Baylor to take the outright ASC Championship. They face the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m."

Now it could say to play for the outright...or play for possible co championship, but what I read is. we are undefeated, we have this in the bag. I could be splitting a hair here, but hey, if it fires up people to get out there, push the guys to take the field and completely beast over the opposition then yeah.. i'll do it, I want the Cru to monkeystomp darn it.. monkeystomp them into the floor, then pick them up and set them on the bus home safely. And the suggestion to bring in the previous Cru who faced this before, maybe an idea, a heart to heart, here is what it means kinda thing.

WOW, you are really reading into what is written.  I see nothing wrong with what they posted or how it is written.  Ease up on the implied wording.

Wesley dad makes an appearance! What was up with Wesley this week by the way!?

Since we moved to the East not much to chat about over here.  Did not make plays when they needed to.  Defense is very suspect.  Sort of like what happened at HSU for the Cru.  You get used to making plays and then when they dont happen you are left wondering.  We have been spoiled for the past 10+ years.

Wesley Salisbury is a rivalry game. I do not find the number of times that they have played, but the 2 campuses are on the DelMarVA peninsula,  60 miles apart.

Yep. I'm aware. Anything can happen in rivalry games.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

ASC Football tie-breaker 3-way tie.

Am I reading this right that if UMHB beats ETBU by more than 6, they are the champion? I guess it doesn't matter without the AQ but just trying to figure it out.

Pat Coleman

Guessing they are all co-champions. No need for a tiebreaker so I don't know why the conference would apply it.

Nothing like a 3 way tie for 1st in a 6 team conference.

It happens. Last year the ODAC had 4 of 8 tied at the top.

D O.C.

The ASC has to get more than six teams.
That Stadium cannot go to waste.

Could MHB still be haunted by the end of that home LINFIELD game last year?

Does either team rest players this week because a tie is preordained?

D O.C.: The ASC doesn't have an automatic bid, nothing is guaranteed.

And they already have secured two more teams, Belhaven and McMurry - it's just a matter of them officially completing the process to transition (back, in the case of McMurry) to D3.

I always get a kick out of reading the comments section when a new Top 25 is listed.  Sometimes I can almost make out Pat sitting behind his computer breaking pencils in frustration.  ;D

About to fire up the podcast and bask in the INSANITY that is Pool C this year.  Should make for a fun week of speculation.

I got an old Louisiana buddy that says he can make it taste just fine!!!

I was sorely disappointed on Saturday.  I truly thought my ole' alma mater had taken a turn.  Thought they had, had enough of being mediocre.  I love HSU and for what it has done for me.  I still believe and Coach Burleson and his staff and I know they will take the sting of Saturday and use it as a growing opportunity.

I know there are minds greater than mine out there.  What is the best scenario for HSU this week and dare I say, making the playoffs??

Here's a deep dive take for you-  best thing Hardin-Simmons can do this week is win.  Not winning would knock them out of the playoffs and in a lot of ways flush that big win over UMHB, which would be unfortunate.  That should pay off with a postseason game.

We'll need to wait and see what the South's regional rankings look like on Wednesday for a more nuanced analysis.   :)
