On paper...some great match-ups this weekend.  Looks like a wet one in the forecast this weekend.  Linfield's offense has struggled some in the rain this year and it looks like UMHB has logged in a few wet ones this season.  I think ball security and turnovers/takeaways are going to be a major factor in the game (as it has been in the past as well).
I think controlled aggressiveness from the UMHB front four is also very important. I felt like Linfield and HSU (UMHBs last two losses) both took advantage of an over aggressive d-line which let the QB buy time and make plays. Id love to see that aggression contained enough to not push past the play. (But I'd rather over aggressive than not aggressive enough)
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Any Cru fans that are headed into McMinnville this weekend.  I highly recommend headed down to 3rd street in Mac.  There are great restaurants, cool stores, multiple wine tasting bars, brew pubs, coffee shops, etc.  I've been around Mac for nearly 20 years and I still loving headed to 3rd street.

+k for the recommendations.  I will keep this in mind for my trip in 2017.

Awesome news! One thing that confuses me is the article says that the conference won't regain the automatic bid until 2018, I would have thought that adding TLU and Southwestern would have done that in 2017.

And 2018 is at the earliest. Since TLU and Southwestern are not full members of the conference, there's a two-year waiting period before they count toward the AQ.

Pat is there a reason for the 2 year waiting period? I can see logic in not counting members that are coming from D2 or NAIA but why wait for D3 members?

I was under the impression the AQ was coming back earlier than that with McMurry and Belhaven joining, no?

Both schools are officially transitioning to D3 and won't count towards the minimum required schools until they do.   This is Belhaven's year one; not sure exactly what year McMurry is, but they're further along.

In any case I am happy that TLU and SW were able to find a football home in the ASC.

TLU02SA

Much relief here!!!!  Really looking forward to TLU continuing to play the strong ASC schedule every year.

Here is TLU's statement:

Wc11 Has it right.  Downtown Friday or Saturday night is the place to be.  Besides everything that WC11 mentions, a lot of fans meet at two long time haunts downtown.  The Deluxe at 3rd and Galloway and the Blue Moon on 3rd and Cowls.  These places have been around before i was a kid and that was a long time ago.  The link http://www.downtownmcminnville.com/explore will give you all the info you need.  As Mayor and a good friend of WC11s I would like to welcome you to McMinnville this weekend.Drop by the tailgates south of the stadium and say hello to many of the Wildcat Tailgaters.

I'm planning on making the trip in 2017. Is there an Oregon equivalent of Dixie Pig I'll need to check out?
