Quarterback Magazine just did released an article about Jordan Narramore transferring to UMHB

"University of Hardin Baylor"?  Who's that?   :P

Interesting read, though.  It sounds like your son has a good head on his shoulders.  I have respect for those athletes who can juggle their sport and academics so well.  Good luck to him as he transitions to a new school and a new state.

My first thought.

At least they spelled Humbold right.

From Dave Campbell's 2016 Texas Football:

"The Cru, which advanced to the Division III quarterfinals [in 2015], joins Mount Union as the only Division III programs that have won at least one postseason game in each of the past 12 years, and UMHB is the only school at any level to average at least 10 wins per season for the entire history of its program."  written by Al Pickett (page 182)

Since the inception of its football program in 1998, UMHB's record is 181-38. The CRU averages 10.05 wins and 2.11 loses per season.

Sul Ross State University head football coach John Pearce recently sat in on a webcast with Athletic Scholarship Corp to discuss the issues and challenges facing non scholarship athletic programs.

ASC Preseason Polls/Awards are out.  Hit the link for more details: http://www.ascsports.org/news/2016/7/19/FB_0719160835.aspx

The Cru was picked to win the conference for the 14th consecutive season.  Hardin-Simmons and ETBU round out the top 3.  Teidrick Smith named ASC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

Football season can't get here soon enough!

First the ASC Preseason Poll and now the D3Football Preseason Poll.

UMHB leads the ASC at 5th, HSU at 10th, TLU at 21st and ETBU received enough votes that they would be 33rd if the poll went that far.

Looking forward to the 2016 season. Looking for some HSU perspective. Certainly lost some key contributors but seem to have good returning players and solid replacements. I agree with the initial conference predictions and think like last year we could see some great games (yes plural) between HSU and UMHB.

When I saw the d3football preseason rankings headline (5 purple powers at the top), I immediately put together a list of what I thought would be the order.  Turns out I was spot on.    ;D

UMHB/HSU should definitely be the conference game to watch this year.  TLU is probably the toughest common opponent (and future conference member again), but the Cru face an even bigger test against Linfield in week 3.  It will be interesting to see how that game (win or lose) impacts the rest of their season.

Also, the fix is in!

I guess HSU is going to Salem.  Congrats, Cowboys!   ;)

Looking forward to the season kicking up again. Going to the Linfield game for sure, and the HSU game as well. The only unknown I personally think is out there is the McMurry game, this will be our first time since they rejoined the league that we face them. So should all the D3 Board lurkers set up a tailgate? A UMHB/Linfield pregame gathering? I've never tailgated at UMHB yet and thought maybe this would be an apropos game to give it a shot...thoughts anyone? Matching faces to postings and giving ya'll a chance to smak me over the head...

UMHB ranked 5th by D3, 4th by Sporting News and 5th by Lindys...UMHB's Teidrick Smith and Broderick Jenkins were both named First Team Preseason All-Americans

Question for you GLAD2BCOWBOY, how well do you think your boys are going to be able to replace your offensive and defensive lines? Obviously Ramos will be very hard to replace but that d-line last year was pretty solid but heavy on seniors last year.
