I will be there.

Any recommendations for must see/do in Austin or Belton?  I'll have all day Friday to check things out!

ok. so we should have a meet up of d3 folks before the game Saturday. any thoughts on a time and place?

If you want some good BBQ, we should all meet up at Millers.  Pat should meet us there also.  We could get there at lunch on Saturday and enjoy some good Q before the game.

Is that a good place to eat after a three-mile run? That's what I start Saturdays with these days. :)

Probably not, but it could be convenient that it is a 3 mile round trip to run from Crusader Stadium to Schoepf's (Millers is a little closer) and back again.

Saturday's game was a good one for the Cru, but as I've gone back and watched 3/4 of the game again, the one are the Cru must get better at is OLine. Second would be secondary coverage on key receivers.

The OLine allowed too much pressure up the middle. UMHB will hit runs up the middle. That's it. When they do, they must make them work. The guards just weren't owning the line, and Saturday will be more difficult. I hope Conally Fuller is back this week. We need him.

Secondly, we let Holmes dominate the outside. Kris Brown didn't play, and I hope he is back this week. We need him. Giving up big plays and not getting hands up to block the ball isn't going to help. The Linfield receivers will be tough.

UMHB must minimize penalties. They have not done well in this area.

Saturday will be fun. ASC fans come and cheer for the Cru!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Good luck to the Cru this weekend it is a big game for you and for the conference.   Would love to be there but I must be in Waxahachie  to cheer on the Cowboys.   Get after em!

D O.C.

Applaud for you, Pat.

Just ducking in to pick up the check should work fine for everyone.  ;D

Hooyah Cowboys

The HSU Cowboys travel to Waxahachie to play SAGU, who is just coming off of a whooping at the hands of the ETBU offense. What an opportunity for an HSU offense who didn't quite click in the season opener to get on track and build some confidence! I am fully expecting a dominant performance by the Cowboys, who I'm sure have a point to make after a somewhat disappointing outing in Georgetown. I hope we can dominate from the opening kickoff and build some momentum to take into our matchup with TLU the following week.

I'm also really excited to watch the UMHB vs Linfield matchup this Saturday. This is the best non-conference, regular season matchup in recent memory. What an opportunity for both teams! I'm glad to see a matchup like this instead of just scheduling sure blowouts before ASC play gets underway. I'll be paying very close attention and as hard as it may be, I guess I'll be pulling for ASC to come away with this one  ;D

Hey gang-

Is the ASC still sans-AQ this year?

Correct.  I believe next year Belhaven and McMurry will become full D3 members and TLU and Southwestern will be joining the conference for football only.

McMurry is Provisional year #3 and so they do not become a full member until 2018.

I believe that the conference gets its AQ in 2018.

Thanks for the correction re McMurry.  This will be the first year the Cru has faced them since the 2011 playoffs.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to checking out the area, eating some good bbq and seeing to 2 great teams battle it out on Saturday.

On a side note: Looking at checking out the Temple HS vs Cedar Ridge HS game on Friday night as I'm a HS FB coach and want to check out some Friday night lights Texas football.
