2 weeks in a row of solid tests for the Cru.  I'll be glued to my twitter feed on Saturday.

You can watch or listen on your phone as well.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Certainly HSUDAD...and I certainly hope for a good day for HSU, but I hope there is not an inexplicable black hole that opens on the road from Abilene next week sending HSU's buses into a time warp sending them back in time for a week and then bringing them back to 2016 on Oct. 23rd (Don't wanna miss church) But..i'm sure that won't happen...
But i believe we both hope for a safe and competitive two weeks.
Definitely don't want to miss church haha, but absolutely wishing for injury free good old competition.
Good luck!!!

So, UMHB started of slowly today, got a butt chewing at the half, and destroyed ETBU in the 2nd half. ETBU seemingly played angry in the second half and had some dirty plays.

Tedrick absolutely manhandled their Oline.

Let's do it again this weekend.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Whoa!  The McMurry 56-7 score over Belhaven surprised me!

There was a Pick 6 and a punt return in the first half, but that still leaves 42 points by the offense.

Plus, shutting down the Belhaven offense to only 2 red zone chances is nice and creating 5 turnovers was critical.

That is a nice improvement this far into the season! Now 2-3 on the year with several more games to go!

(HSU will be tough!)

D3 write up already out... http://d3football.com/notables/2016/10/week7-top25-roundup Frustrating start for the Cru, but the second half they arrived. Musta been the trip... bt the second half they were brutal

And what is up with Haston Adams, having delusions of grandeur and wanting to be a running back?  ;D The Big man did it once again!

Well, you have fullbacks and then you have FULLbacks!

No doubt, the worst half of football by The CRU this season and perhaps the worst half ever by Blake Jackson. We know that bad quarters, halves and even games happen during the season. I just hope UMHB got the bad out of thier system. Blake Jackson realy struggled in the first half, missing recievers (3 that would have been TDs), etc... Given the first half circumstance, the defense played well. What a difference halftime makes. UMHB just dominated the second half.

ETBU's quarterback is pretty good, but he took a beating. The CRU defensive line dominated ETBU O-line, the QB never had time to throw down the field.

I really think that if UMHB plays its game, ETBU stands absolutely no chance.  I know that this might provide some ammo for ETBU, but, honestly, it is what is is.  Now if UMHB shows up with the mentality that all they have to do is roll their helmet out there, than it will be upset city.  But if the team has a focused week and doesn't take their opponent lightly, they will win by 3 touchdowns.  Honestly, UMHB is that much better than ETBU.  Bank it....CRU just can't show up with an attitude other than "we are going to humble you and make you like it".

I don't think THIS Cru team will do that.  Being around the program since inception, I don't get the feel from this group that there is a sense of entitlement or greater than thou mentality.  The Linfield game being as it was, I believe that showed this team what focus and determination can do. All Coach Fred needs to do is remind the players of a Mississippi College loss, a CNU loss, a Southern Oregon Loss, or even the HSU loss last year.  The place will be loud and playoff atmosphere, so they will need to come in with grit and determination, and I believe that will happen.

It appears UMHB "rolled the helmet out" for the first half.  A little attitude adjustment in the locker room provided a necessary jolt to wake them up.  This team can ill-afford to come out sloppy to begin a game if it is going to make a run to the title.  Proper mental preparation and a focused desire to win it all must be top priority.  Over-used cliche "one game at a time" applies.  Can't play the first half like they did and expect to make it to Salem.  ETBU is a good team, but not close to the level of who UMHB will face 2-3 rounds deep.

Jack Parkman

ETBU was/is their own worst enemy.  All of their antics did nothing but piss off the CRU and thats why they got smoked in the 2nd half.  UMHB had a lot of chances in the first half but their own mistakes really hurt them.  ETBU came out fired up and made some great plays but it didn't last long.

**From a 100% outsiders perspective**

ETBU has some athletes but I think a lot of their offensive numbers come from playing some teams that are nowhere near as athletic.  UMHB limited the big play and ETBU was never able to throw the ball down the field with any success.  They seem to be a dink-and-dunk team and let their athletes make the big plays.  The ends for UMHB had a field day and I give the ETBU QB a lot of credit for his toughness.

Well the week has arrived that we all circled on the calendar. Both teams arrived undefeated as expected with no trip ups.  Both team are probably banged up some.  UMHB will be the favorite with #3 ranking and how field.  Can David slay Goliath?  Looking forward to the game.  Regardless of the outcome let's hope both teams come out of it with no injuries   Good look and see ya Saturday.

I truly look forward to the UMHB v HSU ( As my daughter says Hardin sinners v. U of Money Hungry Baptists) and we'll be there for homecoming and such. I think the season drama has built up nicely for this matchup...should be a nice packed house being that HSU is in a abilene and many can make the trip. Let's pack this house! Get loud and see one great match up! We had a good travel cru last year at the loss....hope to see that rectified this game.

Jack Parkman is a great American and a true D3 fan. I've been at games with him in Belton, Abilene, Marshall and McMinnville, Oregon. Like Chickenman from the 1960s/70s radio series of the same name, "He's everywhere, he's everywhere!"

Chichenman Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chickenman_(radio_series)

It is a pleasure to watch a game with Jack. He is an astute observer and at the UMHB vs ETBU game he was at his best. Within 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter he said, "UMHB is a different team this half and this game is about to be over," and went on to explain why. He was spot on!

I'm proud to say I know Jack Parkman.
