Really pulling for both teams to make it past the first 2 rounds, as I moved to TX a couple of years ago and haven't been able to see NCC play in person since. An hour drive north would be wonderful! Good luck to both!

So you're in the Austin area?  Good stuff and best of luck.

Thanks!

Dang! Mary Hardin Baylor beginning to sound a bit like University of Wisconsin at Whitewater.

Reminding that number 1 team,  the other-than-McMurray team in Abilene, and the ncaa committee the most points scored was 27 by LINFIELD.

I get you wanting to remind UMHB and the NCAA committee, but what does ACU have to do with it?
Just kidding a little, but really what are you driving at?   I do not believe there has been an HSU post on here doubting or overlooking LInfield.  That would be ridiculous seeing how it has been a while since we have had a post season victory.

What I'm driving at is Yellowstone and venting?

Personally, passed up going to Belton and McMinnville to see a game so I could go to a playoff game. Now the game is out of reach for me. I know of no one else who will be going to Abilene.

I know the ncaa looked at the 66 points UMHB ran up  ;D scored on LINFIELD compared to the close HSU score. Did they notice that the most UMHB gave up all year was 27 to LINFIELD? FWIW

The UWW reference was I've noticed over the years they welcome their next victim so graciously. There's not a person in that 8,766 stadium that thinks Redlands has a snowball's chance.

Anyway....what ever happened to trash talking and then apologizing for it later?

Of course with this rather warm weather in central Texas in the middle of November that snowball wouldn't last very long anyways!  LOL

I gotcha, as an HSU fan I must say I was a little surprised that we were hosting.  When I initially saw linfield on the bracket my mind immediately went to what bank I could rob to pay for a plane ticket to go watch, then I realized we were hosting.   Sorry for getting touchy I'm all for good ol fashion trash talking just not used to the playoff vibe and am real edgy about Saturday.   I feel it is going to a battle and  Linfields playoff experience speaks volumes I just hope we bring our A game.

D O.C.

Yes, well, I'll let Gig Harbor Cat put it in the bank for LINFIELD.

Just to sort of give you an idea of the nature (as I have seen it) from the HSU minions, last game I sat the first half in the HSU stands, wearing my UMHB Hat, Shirt and undies...and yeah there was some jawing, but I never did hear a severe one, just people passionate about heir team their boys, and when one of our players go down, they were respectful and quiet. So cowboy minions aren't a hostile bunch (Not like some others in our conference who I will leave to the imagination) just very passionate about their program.
The UMHB crowd has a duel edge, we have our ragged, 100% on fire slap ya momma hot sauce drinking hit somebody fans, and we have the golf clap set, usually buried way up top, "Oh wonderful play, wouldn't you say that bubby" golf clap....So the lower in the stadium you go and closer to the field, the louder it gets, but not hostile by any means. So I don't think you'll get any jawing, but we can if ya'll want...but it will be good natured...I think at least for me, it's the fact that on a saturday, anything can happen, we've seen that time and time again, better to be fierce in battle and magnanimous in victory (got that from a cereal box somewhere) Also, I think the fans have respect for the Linfield Program and like I predicted from day one, the HSU program as real, better bring everything you have to this game, kitchen sink, towels, even the kids toys because that is what it is going to take to win it.

It wasn't so warm last Thanksgiving when we were there. ;)
Looks like we are going to have very similar weather to that this weekend in Chicagoland.

D.O.C., make it to Abilene and I'll leave my ID for you (if you look like a fat midforties bald guy with a goatee). I'll be in Belton for daughter 2 to attend Preview weekend and for me to attend some playoff football.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Yeah, some people think it doesn't get cold in Texas. Ask North Carolina Weslyan about that. ;D We try to keep it pleasant, but late November through January is a crap shoot.
