Carl Gustafson has been hired to replace Danny Padron at TLU.  Carl fits well at TLU and will continue to build on what Coach Padron started.  TLU had a down year, but the foundation is strong.  Texas kids in high school who maybe aren't the 4 or 5 star recruit but still want to play ball, need to really take a look at the DIII schools in Texas.  They all have a lot to offer and each has proven to be competitive and TLU is no exception.  Coach Gustafson will do a solid job and will be the type of coach players will want to play for.  Looking forward to next year!

Heh, I see he coached at Winston Churchill High School.  My wife went there.  Good luck to Coach Gus (just not too much when they face the Cru).

Living in Austin, "Coach Gus" means his uncle who was the baseball coach for many years.   :)

Good hire for TLU, someone who is familiar with the program in Seguin and who knows Texas high school football.   He should still have some coaching contacts in the public school arena from his time at Churchill (et al) and the new private school contacts he made at SA Christian won't hurt, either.

Hey, for all of you long time members out there.  Just curious?  What is the criteria (conference games only, entire season, WINS & LOSSES) for the selection of the ASC All-Conference players and who exactly votes or selects the players?

Cannot answer that one myself, crufootball.

What goes Coach mean when he said ran a deficit of 130,000, does he mean it cost the NCAA that much to send teams their?
And, had Linfield beaten UMHB, they might have hosted 3 or 4 games. I am not sure how the Linfield football team ran a $130,000 deficit. This is not the NAIA.

Talk about a big ole boo-hoo in that article. Someone get the Coach some tissue and a therapy puppy. Poor guys...they have to play some road games in the playoffs.  :'( :'(
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

Good luck to the Cru and HSU today.  HSU should feel pretty confident based on same opponent results.  Picking both Cru and HSU to win today.

I know that this has been addressed here in the past, but I wasn't able find anything. During the post season any noise makers are not allowed, correct? From what I remember the NCAA said that it's not fair to the visiting team because there wouldn't be as many fans pulling for them. Isn't the whole idea of home field advantage is to be able to have your fans in the stands? It is getting just too crazy not to allow fans to show their support as they would during the regular season because it might hurt the feelings of the visiting team and their fans! Thoughts?
