Thanks for your projections, Logan.  I don't doubt that TLU will hold their own against most of the conference, but I'm especially interested to see how Southwestern fares this season (and beyond).  #3 - #8 looks to be quite competitive.

I have an ulterior motive for my interest in Southwestern.  It will make for a super convenient away game when the Cru visits them in Georgetown.  ;D

I'm interested to see how adjustments for returning starters spreads things out. Only 1.2 wins separating #3 from #8 is pretty wild. It could barely be considered a "miss" by this projection if TLU & Southwestern finished flipped in the standings.

Could be a very exciting year all the way around when you also think about how the coaching changes at HPU and ETBU will alter those teams.

Not sure if Braxton Harris can change much in his first year at HPU but he is used to winning more often than losing at UMHB and TLU and I know he has been doing a lot of work out there to bring attention to the program.

As for ETBU I can't say I know much about the new head coach at ETBU but can he continue the positive momentum that Coach Walden had built?

Also I know I am always wasting money but I can't help but buy the few national magazines that give a page or two to D3. Street & Smith's has UMHB coming into the season at #2 and HSU at #14. Marketith Miller is the only ASC player listed as a All-America Team. Lindy's which did have a pretty decent article about UMHB has them starting the year at #1 with HSU at #17. They also have Markeith MIiller on the All D3 team, but include Haston Adams, Alex Ball, Reese Childress and Zach Roberson as well.

Any publication that doesn't have Alex as an AA loses a little respect from me. Never seen the guy play (but did just peep his Hudl), but he added more value (yards above average player, opponent-adjusted) just as a return specialist than all but the top 5 or 10 WRs in the country.

To defend Street and Smith's a little there, they only do a single team and it doesn't include a return man, whereas Lindy's does 2 teams and includes a return man which is the spot Alex Bell got.

I can't find much news on this anywhere but Teidrick Smith has been waived by the LA Rams, hopefully he can snag a training camp invite somewhere else or land a CFL gig (the track has been laid before).

Any CRU ticketed for McMinnville yet?

I'll be in McMinnville. My wife and I are arriving Tuesday evening (Sept. 12) and look forward to a few days in the cool Northwest visiting with friends before the game on Saturday.

Sadly, I had to back out of my planned trip to McMinnville.  I know of a few other people who will be there, though.

Former UMHB DE Teidrick Smith was named the ASC Male Athlete of the Year.  He's the 10th Cru athlete to win the award.  A few former football standouts to win it include Javicz Jones (who led the league in tackles this year for the Iowa Barnstormers of the IFL) and Jerrell Freeman (starting ILB for the Chicago Bears).

Congrats to Javicz Jones on being named the IFL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league in tackles. http://www.theiowabarnstormers.com/news/?article_id=996

Also congrats and good luck to McMurry as they have been approved to begin the final step/year of their reclassification process back to D3. http://www.mcmurrysports.com/news/2017/7/7/general-mcm-athletics-approved-for-final-step-of-ncaa-iii-reclassification-process.aspx

Teidrick Smith wasn't idle for long after being released by the Rams.  Today he signed a contract with the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL.  Best of luck to you, T!

So I was listening to the podcast (Good show guys) and thought of a crazy offseason thing to do, use a random number generator to decide the top in DIII.  and here are the results

1 Stevenson 2 Carnegie Mellon 3 UW-River Falls 4 UW-Eau Claire 5 Endicott 6 St Vincent 7 Grinnell 8 Carthage 9 Lawrence 10 DePauw

Now this has absolutely no official baring to anything remotely scientific or even logical, simply 10 randomly generated numbers to select the top ten. But for fun the website also has a game simulator...so I decided to sim some 2017 games.

Like Linfield v UMHB 20 to 35 ( I like that) so I've decided as a project to sim alot of the top ten teams and their games for 2017. And lets see how accurate it may/could/might be.
