Check out Pat's post on Daily Blog.  UMHB fans will like it!!  Wesley fans too in the unlikely event they win.

YEAH!  That's great for the winner of that game (of course, I am rooting for the CRU!)....did they not file paperwork for all the games in error?  OR did they not want to host another one?

Not much faith in the team?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Per the breaking news that the winner of UMHB/Wesley will host the 3rd round = Happy days are here again, the skies above are clear again, happy days are here again!!!!!!!!!

If UMHB wins this week - and I am not trying to drink the coffee before it perks - I will be in attendance at the third round game! Take it to the bank, phone it in, and all the other cliches I can't think of right now!

I will listen to the first half Saturday. If possible, I will race over for the second half. But make no mistake about it... if I am breathing and above ground on the 3rd, I will be rooting on the CRU live and in person.

Not much faith in Wesley, no ["they" == "Wesley"]

Congratulations to HPU for adding soccer.

That makes 7 schools on the West playing soccer!

I wish we had enough schools to split into East and West conferences!

Be patient, Ralph!

Notes from a proud dad,  :)

Ken DeWeese, the UMHB men's basketball coach and color man for the UMHB radio team, has a basketball game in Arkansas this Saturday.  In his place in the booth on Saturday will be none other than Crualum39, alias Bret Page.  Bret was a captain last year, the starting mike linebacker for the Cru for the previous two years and is currently coaching at nearby Harker Heights High School in Killeen.  This will be his first try at broadcasting but I know he will do a great job.  He has always had a great gift of gab   ;D

Break a leg, son !!!!

What a great shot for Bret and in a HOME PLAYOFF game.  Finally you all get one, and richly deserved, I might add.  Much good luck to Bret and to UMHB.  I am still so thankful over their fabulous win over Mount Union last year, for which they earned the trip to the Stagg Bowl, and on a much lesser note, some pretty decent brownies.

We are heading up to the frozen tundra above Pittsburg.  This is the South?  I guess I'm not that good in geography, but it's not warm enough to be the South.  I want a heated Dome, some heated bleachers, at least some handwarmers!!

All the best, Roocru, for the game this weekend
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Good luck to MHB this weekend.

Lets take a brief moment for soccer talk

Congrats to HPU for getting a good coach.
Ralph for the womens side the best thing for soccer right now is to be one conf because of the disparity in talent in the divisions.  If it wasnt for UTD and AC then HSU would not have played a close game all season.  Of the 6 teams that made it to the tournament 5 were from the east.  While HSU showed they are the best, by a slim margin over UTD the east as a whole was still be far better than the west.  It would keep a deserving east team out and set up some great mismatches in the first round.  For now it is probably good that it is 1 division.

Also in the mens side 4 of the 6 teams were from the east.  I didnt count tyler in either because their spot was filled by an east team.

I apologize for the soccer break.....now back to your regularly scheduled football talk.

Pat -- even more of a push we need to add a thread for soccer :) ... I really think that it would be a popular spot on this board...for sure in other conferences around the country.

good point ETBUalum...I like the new format although I cant say its favorable in all instances to the players just because its a ton of travel and if your travel partner isnt that strong that particular year...it can really turn around and hurt ya.

Best of luck to the CRU in the playoffs...looking forward to watching you guys represent the ASC.

Ralph Turner

etbu alum, thanks for the comment on the benefits of the one conference in the Futbol.

We can shelve that thought until we have settled this American Football question. ;)

The coaching turnover at LC is perplexing.  LC is the only D3/NAIA football program in the state.  Everything else is D1 or D2.  LC can be a national power under the right circumstances.  They have a natural recruiting base of all of LA and into southeast Texas and Houston.

I just hope the whole athletic program doesn't fall apart in the school's attempt to move from NAIA to D3 in this last decade.

O.K. ...
-  As someone wearing "NOBLE" purple, I need a bit of assistance here, to which you are OBLIGATED to help...
-  I am TDY (temporary duty) to Waco, and being a MUC'er, by laptop will be tuned to the MUC-Augustana game.  However, as a seasoned football multi-tasker, I can follow quite a few games at once.  Thus, if there a radio station that I can tune to in my Waco hotel room that will pick up a MHB game broadcast, please, please advise.
-  I would love to come to the MHB-Wesley game if (1) MUC was not playing at the same time (who can realistically imagine MUC not playing a football game on a November/December Saturday afternoon???), or (2) the game against Wesley was not already known to be a blowout sometime around late last Saturday afternoon!
-  Before giving me any crap, please know that my driver's license says Universal City, I still possess and wear Judson Rockets paraphanelphia (Roosevelt High STILL sucks!!!), and I never did like Trinity (a bunch of over-privileged brats that couldn't hold their liquor on the RiverWalk!!!).  But I plan to work harder at being an ETBU fan next season (the closest D3 team to Shreveport-Bossier City).
-  Cheers! (I really would like to tune in the MHB game on Saturday, but not via the computer.)

TDY spy... too bad you show such dislike for the brats from Trinity, because you may be working for one of them someday!  Purple was my sister's favorite color too!

Spy, KTEM-AM 1400  has carried the games in the past.  It's only a quick 45 minute drive to Belton down I-35.  I would hope you could make it.

Shucks, that MUC-Augie game should be settled much faster than the UMHB-Wesley. ;)
