Good one, 11.  ;D Actually, the forecast has the wind at under 10 mph. Let's hope it stays that way.

It was a gale all game long Saturday against Chapman. It hit around 11:30 a.m. with a vengeance and was steady at around 30 mph. The wind really contributed to CR3's INT. He got the ball up a bit and the wind just grabbed it and held it up. It also blew UMHB's first field goal off course. This Saturday "should" be much better, but you never know with Texas weather.

I think CR3's hand was hit as well, just a bit, or at least his arm/elbow.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

r.

Two new QB's
Two stellar D's getting healthy
Both Coming off great wins

The healthy thing is certainly in question--Cats were banged up heading into round 1 and facing a good team like HSU didn't help that issue....
Go Cats!

Just now being able to process my thoughts from my trip to Oregon to watch the game. Everything that you UMHB fans are saying about the Cats is true. They are very physical in the trenches and swarm to the ball defensively. I had heard the offense was shaky but their Freshman QB looked very poised and ready for the moment. I still don't think Linfield has the upper hand in the match-up this weekend, but I think it is going to be a lot closer than that 24-3 game back in September.

The atmosphere at the Cat Dome was tremendous and the Linfield faithful were very welcoming except for a few that stood behind our sidelines yelling "F You" and flipping our players the bird, as well as taunting our fans. Other than that what a great atmosphere that they have created up in the North West.

If I am making a prediction after watching both of these teams play HSU this year, I'm going with UMHB winning 17-6, I expect Mr. Wilkerson to return something for a TD whether that is a Punt or Kickoff and then UMHB's front four to control the line of scrimmage making Linfield one dimensional. As for UMHB offensively if the QB plays shaky it could be a long long day for the Cru. Good luck to both teams on Saturday.

Thanks for the input--sorry to hear about the "f-you" guys.  It's a blessing and a curse that fans have access around the field at the Cat Dome.  O.K.--it's a blessing unless you are part of the visiting squad....  I think your assessment about the coming weekend is fair but if the Cat allow Wilkerson anywhere near the ball on a return I will be shocked.  He's burned us for 2 97 yard kick returns in the last 2 years.  I don't need to see that again. :)
Go Cats!

I remember the 2008 Semi-finals game against UWW. The 2nd half UMHB kickoff into that strong south wind at the old Belton High School stadium flew back over the heads of the UMHB kickoff team.  UMHB never had a chance after that!

Spot on about it being a blessing for the home team, I went and stood down there for a little bit in the second half and had some remarks thrown at me, but hey that's home field advantage!

You're probably correct on them avoiding Bryce, but the coverage teams looked a little rough for y'all. Has that been normal? Unless y'all continue to squib kick it there are a lot of running lanes on Kickoffs.

Sorry about that as well.  Our fans get after it, and I love it, but sometimes it can go overboard.

Coverage teams has been a zoo all year long.

CRU Faithful - Last post here until next year. Your Stadium looks immaculate, your team is big and fast and your players are gracious winners and well coached. Good luck the rest of the way and i hope that you guys go all the way to Salem (Sorry Cat Fans) Rather lose to the Champs than anyone else.
You guys are doing something right over there in Belton.

Cheers!

If Linfield kicks the the ball anywhere near Bryce W. I'd be shocked.  Like Wildcat11 said our kickoff coverage has been a zoo all year.  We just need to kick the ball out of bounds and give it to them at the 35 each time.  It would be much safer that way.

I'll take my chances with the Cru offense having to go 65 yards against our D each time.  Of course, if we are kicking off a bunch that would be a-ok with me as it means that we are putting points on the board.

For punts I guess that you have to take your chances but maybe try to kick the ball low and have it bounce and tumble for extra yards.

I'm just glad that Mullins has graduated!

OCguy,

Chapman played hard and with heart and never quit. I visited with some of your fans before the game. Quality people!

C'mon now OCguy--you lost to the CATS also so either way--you're good :)

Our offensive line has got to get more physical this week. There were times this week vs Chapman where we came in for the block but didn't drive the defender, we just became stationary. This seems to not be the way to get it done. Our O line needs to engage the block, drive, and stay on the block.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

D O.C.

HSUAlum255...I also apologize for the jerks who would insult a team likely to shove it back in their faces. It WAS clear enough at times to see those mountains to the west of campus? There are many unpaved roads all the way to the Pacific and abandoned logging shacks up there. Those guys crawl out of the timber to pick up bottles and cans around town to cash in for the price of admission.
We try to say something to them but can't keep all the flies away from the door.

I feel like we should all lobby the National Committee and demand that they don't Cheap Out and send all the good teams to play each other in the 1st and second round.... It's criminal!

I emailed my objections to a NCAA III man in Indy, twice last week.    ZERO response, as usual.

Of course, Mount Union always gets these tough teams in the first 2 rounds.    Yeah, sure.
The NCAA brackets are a joke, almost every year.
