Leaving the D.C. area around 2 2:30, hopefully I get there by kickoff. Safe travels to all.

Depends on where you are starting from in DC .... hopefully you're west and not east.   Google maps can give you a 'future' time estimate if you want to have some idea about the journey.     Safe travels to you, as well.

umhbalum,

If true that there are a player or two suspended, it is probably because they broke a team rule. Coach Fredenburg is a stickler and will not tolerate any nonsense at all. In the 2013 semifinal against UWW, Silvio Diaz, all-american DT, did not play because he violated a team rule. The CRU will be fine. Continue the Tradition.

Hey Everyone, does anyone know if UMHB's Game Notes have been posted? I haven't noticed them yet and wonder if I've just missed them?

Looking forward to a really great game, but hope that The Cru can pull off a win over the Raiders!

Just posted.  http://cruathletics.com/documents/2017/12/12//Game_Notes_NCAA_Stagg_Bowl_2017.pdf?id=2452

UMHB #4 and #33 from prior games who both played a lot in the secondary all year---as well as last year too---are not on the 2 deep or the listed roster. I believe that is Wilson (#4) and Jackson (#33) unless I am mistaken. I do not know if that means suspension but it surely looks unusual to me. I could be wrong, but I believe #33 was suspended for one of the earlier playoff games.

I believe that was the UWW home game in the semifinal in 2013 that UMHB lost 16-15 when Silvio Diaz of UMHB was suspended. That was quite impressive to me to suspend anyone, much less an AA,  for that particular game against that opponent.

It is nice to support a team with standards and one that sticks to its standards.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I agree.  That's why Mount Union sat its star quarterback for a game in the playoffs this year.  Sometimes it just has to be done.

In trying to "handicap" this game, I've gone back-and-forth all week with my winner. I firmly believe this is a game of inches. I had UMHB ahead, ever so slightly, but this is big time news. You obviously know the team better than I do Kelly, but losing a team captain, the #5 leading tackler, in a secondary that's about to face the most talented group of WRs/QB combo they've seen all year... it would seem to me, that saying "the CRU will be fine" is a bit of an understatement...

I think I need to revise my prediction. I had UMHB 21, UMU 20.

Also, in regards to #33 Jackson. His season stats don't necessarily reflect a huge impact on the defense but he was listed as the starting FS for the semi-final matchup vs Brockport. And #4 Wilson was listed as the starting SS. So... UMHB will be without their 2 best safeties?

According to unverified reports that both players have been suspended ^^^^^

Yep I remember that well. I think it happened another time before that as well.

Just arrived at our hotel in Roanoke and getting the wife and kids ready. Hope to arrive about an hour before kickoff but the wife isn't too thrilled about being in the cold any longer than she has too lol

What's the good situation? Standard concessions or plan to feed the family before we arrive?

edward de vere

Both.  You're going to burn a lot of calories shivering.
