well even if he stays in the position I would say it is a win win... At the helm he has done an outstanding job, and if still at the helm he will continue to do the same. Not that I am advocating his departure, he's got near one of the most successful records.

Glad that's over. Now we can move on to getting the next great LB in the game. Obviously, I hate that he has left, but I only want guys who want to be here, are willing to take responsibility, want to lead, and who are Crusaders for Life.

Crusader for life even if it means sacrificing ethical standards? He seemed to say there was something going on that was instigated by coaches, normally that would only raise moderate suspicion and be written off as disgruntled player. But, as the school is under NCAA investigation, I think it carries a little more weight and may not be the kids fault...

The NCAA investigation was wrapped before this came to light on Twitter.

If the investigation is wrapped up where are the results? I have not seen them.

I reached out to CruAthletics via Twitter a couple weeks ago. They stated that the NCAA had finished their investigation and that waiting for the results is all that is left.

Investigations ending is never an indication of when the case is closed or wrapped up. Just as UW-Stevens Point.

Depending on what the investigation revealed, UMHB has the choice of working with the investigator to come up with a negotiated solution (discovery, punishments, etc.) which then has to be approved (maybe altered) by the Committee on Infractions. The other choice is to go the Thomas More route and deny what the investigator found and have a hearing before the COI and let them decide how it will end.

Not saying UMHB has done anything wrong or more punishment is coming - I simply do not know. Usually there is something more to be announced - and there is a chance UMHB already has done it; just not announced - but sometimes it is just the explanation and result.

Cru Varsity will be taking on a team from Mexico tonight at 6:00 at Crusader Stadium. I will be there, sitting in my season ticket location. Stop on by and say hey. I'll be in the crossbar of the H in the upper level. Looking forward to seeing the guys get out and put on a show. Praying for no injuries.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Has anyone heard anything regarding Haston in the last few days? Other than the initial release about his signing a few days ago I haven't heard anything. I checked AZcardinals website and he isn't listed on their official transactions page... I hope he is still heading to AZ, I think he has a real future so I hope it works out

Here is a rundown of the varsity scrimmage tonight.

UMHB played a team from Mexico that allows players to have 7 years of eligibility. So many of these players have been playing together for some time. UMHB has been practicing for two weeks with their current set of players.

Offense:

The offense struggled to show any signs of life all night. Poorman threw a nice pass for an early TD. He and TJ looked in sync most of the night. The OLine looked really bad again even with a new OLine coach, they continued to struggle. Each QB was running all night. Once again, the play calling was suspect. The bubble screen was used all night, and the running backs had to make their own yardage as the OLine struggled. I know it is early, but no crossing patterns, no matching our speed guys across the middle or deep were ever used. Same boring offense.

Defense:

The line struggled early to stop the run or get pressure. The linebackers minus Jones showed very little sideline to sideline speed that we are used to seeing. Blown coverages led to wide open catches. This was shored up midway through the first half, and in the second half, the D line looked a lot better. Linebackers and DLine are in need of a lot of growth in the next two weeks.

Special teams was stymied by short punts and booming kickoffs. Those boys from Mexico were sound in their technique and plan. The couple of times we did get the ball, our returners were lightning fast. They will be fun to watch. The FG kickers, all of which are freshmen, looked good. Just need a touch of accuracy. Their power was nice.

Over all, there is a lot of work to be done by the players and the staff. New plays need to be called and the players will have to get some fire.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

FWIW  Ended 17-17

Poorman got the start.  He fumbled twice, but I'm guessing QBs haven't been hit all camp.

Five QBs in all played for the CRU tho Poorman and Hammack got the most snaps.  TJ got one brief series and had a nice long run.

Both times Poorman fumbled he was hit from behind, so that's easy to do.

Make sure ya'll check out that Thursday night kickoff between ETBU and UW-Platteville. I have a feeling if ETBU wins that one, they'll be ranked the next week.

I think it has something to do with trying to give Platteville a workable travel schedule, but I'm not certain

There have been a bunch of Thursday night games to start the season. W&L had one at JHU two years ago, this year RMC plays at JHU this Thursday. It seems a choice teams are allowed to make.
