Ready to watch the conference championship next week. HSU seemed to have plenty of firepower this game. Expected a close game. Guessing 35-28

Welcome to the boards, TT. This is a great place talk about the games.

UMHB's defense looked great tonight, and while not all the miscues were from direct contact with a UMHB defender, there was a good amount of pressure applied to induce several of the turnovers. Eight turnovers forced in all is pretty incredible for this revamped defense.

Luke looked good tonight, but I wish he would have played more. There was one fumble on a zone read, so I'm not sure whose fault it was. He had a couple of great tosses for two touchdowns that looked great.

Next week...I love it. HSU comes in with a chip and something to prove. I understand the school is bringing a fan bus. That is awesome. They should be. A question:

1. Did Hemphill get hurt tonight? I noticed he had very few carries for the Cowboys.

Key Matchup for next week: Reece Childress, Matthew Sandoval, and Alex Bell against the Cru DB's. The DB's for UMHB have good size, both over 6'2", and they are great in coverage.

The big questions: Can the revamped, young UMHB front 4 stop the HSU ground game? Can the UMHB ground game get going against a good defense? Markeith Miller looked amazing against Albright and SRS, but against TLU and SWU, he did next to nothing. That isn't good. He and Marquis will have to do better next week.

Prediction: UMHB 42 HSU 21.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Don't know if Hemphill is hurt or not. Didn't see it when he was playing. He only played the first few series.  UMHB has a lot of talent and speed is amazing.  I believe the score will be closer. It really depends on if HSU can play from the play. They seem sluggish in first quarter the first four games. Defense has only allowed 7 pts total all season I believe in the second half(not for sure) kicker might decide the game and both kickers have question marks this year.  Know its earlier but hopefully its a rematch at HSU in second round of playoffs instead of first round at umhb lol

Dang autocorrect I meant if HSU plays from the first play

I don't know who's in charge of the UMHB video broadcast, but they need to stop switching to that ground level end zone shot before every play. You can't even tell what's going on from that angle.

Here is the head of videography. dtwilleager@umhb.edu

Yeah, they had the sequence backwards, zoom on on the snap and you could not see the play develop, should be wide out and close in as the play develops

Give them a email but be positive.

Great win for the Cowboys yesterday. I'm especially pleased with the defense, holding ETBU to 7 points until garbage time, and 17 overall is very encouraging. Also glad to see the offense roll without Jaquan in the game. He did leave the game after the first series with an injury, but no word on how serious it is—hopefully it was just a precaution taken because of this week's big game.

The big week is finally here. This game is always low scoring, and I expect the same to be true this year. It really will come down to whichever team is able to have the more effective ground game. I think a 21-17 score is what we will get.

Happy to say I'll be in Belton for the game, hopefully fresh off celebrating a Longhorn victory over OU!

Oh, sorry -- I was given Karley Free's contact info to help set up the interview with Coach Fredenburg for Friday's podcast and I was under the mistaken impression that she led the videography. My bad.

Karley heads CruVision which is the camera crew at the stadium, but Twig is head of UMHB Videography, he basically runs film for all sports from practice to games.

That's the NCAA's timeline and there's no guessing.

the investigation has been complete for a while. So its a sit and wait game now

QB Jock Itch

Had a question proposed to me this weekend. I would love to hear from some football experts. How many teams have won a State, National, or World Championship (high school, college, or pros) using a 2 QB system? How do fans and players like this system? Does it have potential to split a locker room and fan base? A true 2 QB, not when 1 gets hurt and another comes in.
I couldn't think of one. There have been plenty that's been successfull but not winning it all. Curious to hear some thoughts on this age old question. Have a great week and Go CRU beat hsu.
