There is an intriguing storyline for the game Saturday. KJ Miller transferred from ETBU to UMHB. Supposedly he wanted to play FB and Baseball and ETBU wouldn't let him. When he touches the ball, It's a fun ride. I wonder if he's got a little extra for them or they for him?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

That's the rumor. Miller did play baseball at ETBU this past spring; played centerfield. He is pretty good, so I'm told. He is a welcome addition to CRU football and baseball.

No. 2 UMHB eager for test; Crusaders expect challenge from high-scoring Tigers: http://www.tdtnews.com/sports/article_fc577fb0-e16e-11e8-98e5-4b2dd05c3a8e.html

The report also mentions that Coach Fredenburg's daughter, Kori, is schedule for kidney transplant surgery on December 5. Please remember Kori and the family in your prayers. supposedly UMHB coaches' recruiting prowess is not contained to the high school ranks haha

It makes no difference for us in the end, but it would be a silver lining in a pretty blah season for ETBU to pull out an upset over the CRU....

Won't happen. Our D is better than last year, and our O is light years ahead of last year. Sorry. It is what it is.

I mean you're probably right....but we didn't think it'd be close last year either. Having said that, I've seen nothing in our offensive scheme that really instills any confidence that we can ever adjust to anything a defense throws at us. And if you can stop our run with 4-5 guys in the box (every average defense we've played has done that to us) its tough to get anything going through the air. Just hoping for a miracle here haha

I thought there was No redshirt in D3.  Is a medical redshirt allowed?

3 games or 30% of games which ever is greater. Interesting thing is if HSU plays one playoff game he qualifies because he only played in first qr of the 4th game. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

No, it's one-third, and it rounds up, and it only counts the regular season. But that means that someone who played in four games of a 10-game regular season qualifies for a medical hardship.

The NCAA calls it a hardship exception, not a redshirt, but under certain circumstances one can be secured.

Yes. It is allowed. It has happened numerous times. It basically gives them an extra year of eligibility.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Lol UMHB has only given up 49 points all year -- and most in a game is 14. That's ridiculous.

crufootball

Some of the defensive stats are comical at this point. My favorite is that the defense has scored as many points (49) as they have given up. That is not counting 7 other touchdowns that our special teams has scored.

I am excited though about the ETBU game as I bet the defense is eager to go against the team that scored the most points on them all year. I am sure the coaches are highlighting how good Baca looked last year.

QB Jock Itch

It will be good for UMHB to go against a high powered throwing team. etbu has established themselves as the premiere passing offense in the ASC and has historically given the Cru fits. Should be a good game (at least I hope it is, we need to have some advertising and close game going into the 4th QTR) . I believe our offense is jelling and doing some good things, special teams still leads the country, and defense is outstanding. On a side note it should be the coldest game this season as I'm seeing the highs around 52. Should be fun.

The last ten years of results UMHB vs ETBU:

2007: UMHB 72 ETBU 7
2008: UMHB 27 ETBU 6
2009: UMHB 52 ETBU 10
2010: UMHB 34 ETBU 28
2011: UMHB 54 ETBU 30
2012: UMHB 54 ETBU 20
2013: UMHB 65 ETBU 10
2014: UMHB 83 ETBU 19
2015: UMHB 67 ETBU 20
2016: UMHB 59 ETBU 22
2017: UMHB 31 ETBU 21

The CRU defense seemed to sleep walk through the last two games of the 2017 regular season. Why? Who knows? UMHB gave up 20 points to Louisiana College and 21 to ETBU. If you compare those two games to the whole of the 2017 season, they were, on the defensive side of the ball, aberrations. This year's defensive unit seems to be, on the whole, playing better than last season's. The offense is so much better than last season; there really is no comparison. The offensive line and QB play are far superior to 2017. It is football and anything can happen, but I expect The CRU to close out the regular season in strong fashion on Saturday.

Praying for Kiri. Hoping for a successful surgery and recovery. My father received one in 2000 and it increased his quality of life massively and gave him 18 extra years.

Looking forward to the second set of regional rankings today. Will HSU Love Up? Should be telling.

This weekend... I think ETBU will make it interesting. In 16, Heston had a fumble recovery rumble for a TD, and the offense played well. The thing about the offense is this, we haven't had an OLine that has been top notch in years. The fact that's a Markeith had over 1,000 yards last year is unbelievable. This year, the OLine and RBs are playing so well, and while it seems that TJ has taken a step back this year, he's dropped some balls that were typically caught in the past, there are other weapons that make the O so much better. Finally, on the defensive side, Raylon and Jefferson roaming the secondary has really solidified a revamped defense. I look for them to have a big day, especially of Cole can't go at CB.

I'll be checking in from the deer lease this weekend. Glad to have this opportunity to be with my family. Go Cru!
